So I'm moving back to my country(Greece) in two days after studying in Russia for three years.
And here I am, sitting in an empty appartment, with most of my stuff packed and ready to go. I am thrilled to go back, and I love Greece, all my friends and family are there. Good things are waiting for me. But still, I feel somewhat empty inside, and can't sleep... It's a sadness that I can't quite explain. I might miss this place after all, even though my time here was very hard, and I mostly wanted to go home. The thought that I'm leaving soon makes my knees tremble. :/
Just wanted to share this with someone, since I don't really have friends here or anything.

It always feels weird to leave a piece of your life behind even if it is one that wasn't all that great.

I didn't really feel that way when I was moving here, and I moved a lot since I was little, so this should come naturally easy to me. Being attached to a place somewhat scares me.

Do not worry comrade. You may leave mother Russia, but mother Russia never leaves you...though that might be because Putin has everyone followed.

Joking aside, your feelings are understandable. You don't live somewhere for three years and then leave without perhaps a bit of remorse.(unless of course those three years were some kind of hell hole ridden nightmare) If you're done with your schooling you're probably also feeling a bit sad that, that time in your life is passed. Hell, I broke down in tears at my class banquet at the end of high school just because I knew that come graduation it would be all over and off to college.

People don't tend to find out how attached they are to a particular period in their life until the sobering truth hits them that it's over and a new unfamiliar chapter looms before them. So buck up and focus on the good things that lie ahead for you. An immediate one being that you're going home to see family and friends.
