I've been playing the demo skirmish level for a few hours and it is a good game. the voice command isn't needed at all but I can see it improving the game in areas but I doubt many people will use it constantly.

two downsides, the supposedly funny repetitive things squads say as you click on them really need to be ditched, some of it's actually quite racist against the Europeans

and the fact that you can't have nukes, you have (depending on your nation) ether a vacuum bomb, a 'kinetic strike' or for the Europeans and incredibly underpowered in comparison death ray style energy beam fired from space. none of which do a huge lot of damage, it'll kill everything in like a 100m area but there's no great visible trail of destruction and support helicopters still come and collect casualty's from there shortly after even though they should all be fried. nothing I'd consider a 'WMD' as advertised.
It's not WMDs, it's tactical weapons^^, But honestly I wouldn't want my fully leveled squads (Heroic or whatever) to be fried instantly when the WMDs hit, Id be pissed to the level that i wouldn't play for a while. And from the beta, Leveling units just to level 2 may take several battles.

Just to clarify, level 1 - 2 may take one or 2 battles depending on unit kills, But level 3 - 4 can take over 5 battles and to have a unit survive trough that (Should be a total of 10 battles by level 4) Your either shit lucky or just a good player, Now you'll treasure those units believe me. Now imagine those elites killed of by a WMD with no fighting chance and that isn't fun. And If you are the bastard who go for complete kills just move in your forces and finish what the nuke started. A.k.a Slaughtering everything alive

well I found it quite fun and no, end war has NOTHING to do with an FPS just..no, and yeah it might be dammed useless but it makes it easier for the console RTSes and it's also quite fun...feel free to ***** at me..but I will probably not listen yo you^^(mainly because you said that an innovative RTS is just like a tactical fps)
I sincerely apologise for speaking from my own experience with the game and saying something that does not completely match your opinion. After all, your opinion is divine law, isn't it?

I too speak from my own experience and yes..everyone has it's own opinion, but end war is not a "tactical fps"( if you said it metaphorically I'm sorry I'm a bit thick) that's all I said and the game works perfectly fine to me...

"EndWar. truly the future of RTS games?"

I sure hope not. Now if you mentioned something along the lines of voice commands being the RTS future, then I'd completely agree with you. As a whole, the game just doesn't cut it when compared to others of the same genre.

The good: The voice command system is a great concept. In fact, it's just the thing I have been dying for in RTS games. If anything, this game serves as a great 'proof of concept'.

The bad:
Unfortunately, the voice command system in this game needed to cook a little more before being served. All too often it misinterprets orders (specifically unit numbers). When dealing with only a small amount of units, this is not much of a hassle. However, when you are dealing with more than 7-8 groups during a combat situation, it can be hard to notice that group 4 was given the order instead of group 6. These situations occur often enough make the system very unreliable. Combine this unreliability with an other-wise 'clunky' controller based system, and you have a recipe for much gamer frustration.

Take the voice system out of the game entirely, and you're left with a fairly generic RTS with clunky controls and a somewhat decent story (if you're into Clancy'esque stories anyway). But hey, perhaps many people didn't have as many issues as me with the voice command system. It's just that I, and most of my friends did.

I certainly hope not

it's bad enough having to listen to my friends talking about uber micro

it'd be even worse listening them talking TO their uber micro.
