Enemies that explode.

This is one thing that I really think the gaming industry needs to fuck off with, I find them annoying, uninspired and frankly incredibally cheap. From the Exploders in Dead Space, to the suicide Grunts in Halo, to the Lambent Wretches and Tickers in Gears of War and all other games that I've missed.... what are your thoughts on them?

The tickers in Gears of War aren't too annoying because you can melee them and they wont blow your ass apart.
But yeah, I don't agree with exploding enemies. Except for left 4 dead because I could become one

You missed the plethora of elemental ones in that computerized abortion of two things I love (cyber-punk and Norse mythology) "Too Human".

Either way, I like them, they make me eyes sharp and on the lookout for them...

...except in "Too Human". They just make you die, there.

I don't mind them, forces the person playing the game to actually think for a change. No need to come to a forum crying about your latest failure in gaming.

Watch your language aswell, we are respectable people here.

That said, it could be worse, they could explode into more things that explode after they latch on to your face at the speed of light.

Yeah.. Hate those suicide freaks running at you screaming and shouting only to go BOOM in your face.. They are annoying, but also keeps you on your toes.. A bit of mixed emotions about them.. They had those in Resistance 2 aswell, cannot remember what they were called though

How can you like them, when you are trying to dodge mutant warthogs and the skeleton things, the sucide guys are the biggest pain the ass ever.

I find suicide runners good for a game so long as they aren't over used.

I didn't mind the exploders in Dead Space.

I've never played Halo or Gears of War so I don't know how annoying they are.

The grunts in Halo are great! They just flip out and run at you with a pair of glowing grenades in their hands! Genius XD

Exploding enemies in moderation are a fine addition to the enemies you face in some games. It's not like every game has them, and it adds a bit of spice to the standard gunplay.
