Those goddamn Artificial Chaos robots from Sonic Adventure 2.

They're so fucking annoying. They shoot lasers at you and shoot their arms out at you way too far and way too fast, and if you go near them they put their heads back into their body so you can't attack them. I actually don't know what tactic you're supposed to use to defeat them, I just run at them and hope for the best.

Most enemies that come equipped with a giant shield. You know it's always going to be pointed at you, and for some reason, it's always invincible to any and all damage; even damage that is normally suppose to be able to get through anything.

Really, any enemy that has any kind of invincibility. Sucks the fun right out of it if you can't do shit to it. I don't mind if it's to a particular damage type, but all damage? No thanks.

That and teleporting enemies; they always seem like chipmunks on crack. Bouncing around with their laughter and ranged attacks, because you know they always spam all 3.

Also also: The Geth on Gold in ME 3 multiplayer.
basically any enemy in Mass effect 3 on the harder difficulties. My particular favourite were the commandos who could throw a grenade 100 yards and have it land right at your feet even though a- you're behind cover, b- you havnt come out of cover and theyve no way of knowing you're there and c- they havnt even been in the room long enough to realistically know where an opponent is hiding.
My favorite grenade throw came when I was coming around behind some guys that were shooting at my team. Just as I take cover in a rear-flanking position, a dude chucks a grenade, forward (towards my team), it bounces off of something sticking down from the ceiling and sails right on over to land right next to me.

But the Rocket Troopers and Primes that can shoot through impossibly small cracks, the Hunters that refused to be "stumbled" and just keep blasting your face in, and the standard Geth Troopers having no other speed than "sprint forward while shooting with dead-on accuracy" really make the Geth my least favorite. Certainly doesn't help that they're also apparently the "zerg" race of the ME 3 multiplayer, always coming in massive swarms from multiple directions.
Meh, the Geth are a minor inconvenience compared to some of the new additions with the Retaliation dlc.

Like Dragoons, the armoured speed addicts that swarm you, then whip the crap out you, stunlocking you into submission until you go down. Comparable to an unshielded Pyro in thoughness, but way faster. They seem to ignore tactical cloak and decoy, so there is no hiding from them or distracting them. And they love coming at you in groups of three at a time. Usually accompanied by a couple Phantoms. They make hacking objectives hell.

Of course, getting grabbed by a Possessed Abomination will ruin anyones day. Though it is pretty funny to watch them dryhump a Volus.

The Ethereals from Enemy Unknown. They mind control your best guys, take people down in one shot, can reflect energy weapons, and they explode when you die, and is it just me or is 60% chance to hit the best that you can get with them?

Tallboys, from Dishonored.
Mother. Fucking. Tallboys. No matter how damn hard I try, I can never get the tanks on their backs, and if I'm going for non-lethal it doesn't even matter coz they can see you no matter where you are from any height or distance and ruin your day just like fucking that.

Also, there was this part on a Gamecube game I used to have called Baten Kaitos, where you'd gone through the game for a while, killing baddies, killing bosses, then you get up on this airship and have to face literally three bosses simulatneously. I never got past that, made me "oh, fuck this" like nothing else

The second enemy flagship in FTL.

I had a built up Kestrel (in easy mode too), managed to take out the first mothership using my away team of two to knock out its isolated weapon systems. I ended up loosing my people due to some bad timing. But then I had to fight a bigger badder ship without my away team to help disable their systems, I got mad pissed after making a solid run through the whole rest of the game and thinking a I had won because there is no f*cking mention of a second enemy flagship.

Feral ghoul reavers from Fallout 3. Good lord, I hate those things with a passion, probably more than deathclaws. The ones from New Vegas aren't as bad, but still tricky to kill if you're not equipped right.

These motherfuckers

Especially on Gold. They can just warp right into you and instakill you like no one's business. Probably only second to fucking Phantoms, but at least Phantoms can be stasised.

Witches in L4D2. Them bitches be trippin'. Especially when they are in a place where you CAN'T POSSIBLY get passed them without startling them. It's like, "Oh how convenient that you've parked your ass down RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FUCKING ELEVATOR I NEED TO GET INTO".

Well since I am playing Borderlands 2 atm, i will narrow my choice to that game. For me, it will be Stalkers and it will be Field Rats. The damn things just don't stay still and I feel as if I am spending more time trying to kill them than I really should. Really there more of an annoyance than a actual challenge.

Any Champion mob in Diablo 3 with Invincible minions. Not only are they invincible, you do no damage so you can't even steal life from them, all the while they are wailing on you and there is little you can do to actually damage the one you need to.

Some of them are manageable, however in the first act there is a cave full of spiders. There are small paths that you can walk on, but the spiders can go everywhere. If a champion spiderling spawns with invincible minions I just restart. They run everywhere, there is no escape or juking them, and you can't even just out DPS them. Just terrible...

I think that these two are definitely qualifiers:
Zubat:

and Tentacool:

Pretty much any time where you have a far distance to walk/surf with ALWAYS THE SAME annoying-as-hell-to-fight Pokemon in between. It would be one thing if Zubat only showed up 20% of the time in a cave, but it generally shows up upwards of 70% of the time. And with Tentacool, depending on the route, they'll show up over 90% of the time.

You read right, what enemy in a game do you despise with a passion? Mine is from Xcom Enemy Unknown, I cannot remember its name so I hope the description helps. This enemy is so overpowered that I would rather be up against ten Mutons than one whatever the hell it is. Even worse is it pulled a fast one on me when I first encountered it. The thing spawned a drone so I thought, 'okay, no biggie,' before being crushed by it. Worse still, all the maps I have encountered it on have forced my soldiers to bunch up and get taken out on mass by it. Also it has attacks that all do AOE and can attack twice in the same turn.

Captcha: only way to be sure. I agree captcha, nuke it.
That would be a Sectopod. They're sort of the "Alpha Bad Guy" in the game. I guess technically that's the Ethereals, but I'd really rather face a couple of Ethereals than a Sectopod.

Fun fact...if you can get it to shoot at something right beside it, it'll gib itself with its own AoE.
My favorite Sectopod kill was when i was up against a Secto with three Muton Elites. Used Psionics to take control of one Muton, then ran him next to the other Mutons while out of cover. Unable to resist shooting an out of cover "enemy" the Secto shot the mind controlled Muton, killing both it and the other Mutons with the Aoe. With half of it's attacks taken up, it was a simple matter to devastate it with my heavies and snipers.
