Sander followed Rufus, eager to get his grasp on the guns and have some Southern fun with it before those whose guns were taken away brought forth a scandal.
"Hey, Sander, hurry it up, wouldn't want to get stuck behind this lot if I were you," said Rufus.
"Yeah, yeah, coming," Sander replied laconically, already turning the Glock 'round and 'round, unable to find a good grip, as tended to happen with pretty much everything. The fact that he only had one hand to turn it around with may've been an extra hindrance.

He let the MP5 rest by his side, and wiped his mouth his right hand, carefully trying to point the Glock away from his face. He didn't notice if anyone had reacted to him pointing his gun at his face, but, then again, he didn't really care either.
"Lawd above! See who's aim is be'er, innit," he said to Rufus with the carefully machinated reply of someone who tried to sound a bit too posh.

Gar slowly picked up an MP5 and aimed down the sights.
Hmmmmm
He pondered for a second. Then he lowered the gun and switched the safety off and the single-shot fire mode on.
Better

Carefully taking some shots, he missed the target twice and managed to sever the left arm of the 'human replica' target.
After severing the arm with the MP5, he picked up the Glock, switched the safety off and fired a few rounds into the head of the target, missing the target completely the first five shots, as he was getting used to the iron sights of the pistol and the weight of it.

"Been a while..."
Gar said with a slight crack of the knuckles as he put the guns down onto the firing range table and stepped back.

"Haha, hello ol' chum!" Mick said, picking up the MP5 like it was a good friend.
He'd used one before in the Marines.
He also picked up the Glock and put it in his pocket for the moment.

Inspecting the MP5 thoroughly, Mick aimed down the sights, unloaded the mag, checked all the bullets then reloaded.
He then switched the safety off, which switched flawlessly.
Mick wasn't expecting such a well looked-after weapon; surely it had been a good few years since MP5s were being created en masse, and it didn't look like the MP5s would've had someone regularly coming to give them a cleaning.

Nevertheless, Mick aimed down the sights, and took aim at a target.
He stated firing single shots, all hitting the head of the target.
Switching to burst fire, Mick aimed lower, around the neck, and pulled the trigger.
The weapon recoiled significantly more, popping out three rounds in quick succession.
The first hit the neck, the second the target's chin, and the third clean through the skull.
Mick smiled.
He'd forgotten how much he liked this gun.

Lowering the gun, Mick decided to test his draw skills again.
He suddenly placed the MP5 on the table and whipped out the Glock, bringing it into a neat and precise position with both hands.
Lining up the sights easily, Mick opened fire on the target.
He took two rounds of three shots; two in the chest, and one in the head.
In his mind, the man he'd shot screamed in the split second between the shots to the chest and the one to the head. He fell in cut-off silence.
Mick pocketed the gun again, and picked up the MP5.

"Sir, thanks for the weapons, sir!" He called to Emerson.
"How have they been kept in such good condition all this time, sir?" He also queried.

As much as Nadia wanted to show off and grab a pair of Glocks, she knew that would be taking someone else's gun. She picked up a Glock and put it in her pocket, then took an MP5 and looked it over. She was more used to Uzis, Tavor-21s and other Israeli weapons, but she wasn't complaining.

She pulled the bolt back and up, locking it in place, and took out the mag. Seeing the bullets were stacked properly, she inserted it again and slapped the bolt into place. She took a step forwards and aimed at the farthest target. She clicked it to fully auromatic and fired a fove-round burst, shredding the chest. She paused, then fired again, this time compensating for the recoil. She hit it in the head twice, the other bullet flying to the side of it, almost grazing the cranium.

She put the weapon down at her side, then drew the Glock. She aimed at the same target and fired once, hitting it in the leg. She lowered it and smiled, then stepped back, letting the next person have a turn.

Katrina froze at the sight of the weapons laid out, one of each was presumably assigned to her for the duration of the target practice sessions. They really expect me to use these? she asked herself, shuddering at the idea of even holding a gun, let alone firing one, even at a target. Without knowing it, Katrina began to back away from the table of armaments, her eyes flitting across the others firing away as if they knew their way around them. They most likely did.

Chris looked over both choices for guns. The Glock seemed a lot similar to what he had actually wielded during his time in the West End Massive. But it had been so long ago. Could he even bring himself to pull the trigger after all this time?

He looked over, it looked like he would have to try at some time. He picked up one of the Glocks, looking it over, pretending he looked like he knew what he was doing. It...it feels familiar. Too familiar.

He lined up one of the targets, holding his gun sideways as he was taught to do in the Massive. Bennie always said to do it sideways for the cred. He started firing but as to be expected with the improper aiming technique, his shots were wild. He got a couple hits on the wooden cutout target he was shooting at, but for the most part he was barely hitting the broad side of a barn.

J'aime had skipped eating for the moment and pocketed one of the unlabeled cans in her cargo pocket. She had always been one to skip breakfast, never having time to grab any when working at the hospital.

Emerson ordered everyone to the firing range. The other recruits began finishing up their meals, if you can call them that, and made their way to the range. Sprawled out in rows were some MP5s and Glock 17s. She had held a hunting rifle and her brother's AUG before, but never really fired them, nor was she supposed to. Almost timid, as to avoid drawing attention, she approached Emerson.

"Uh, Mr. Emerson, sir, captain or whatever...ah fuck it. Under the Geneva Convention and the Laws of Armed Conflict I am not allowed to wag a gun around, and to be completely frank if you need your medic shootin' back it means the rest of you are stiff full of lead. I'm gonna have other priorities on the battlefield, like saving lives. If you want to give me some other alternate duty like comm, it'd be better that I start learning that and not how to properly look down the long side of a stick. If you don't have any other duties for me then I'd like to be shown to your clinic, that is if you even have one. I've been having trouble finding one since I got here...sir."

Hearing J'aime a metre or two away, Mick walked over to join the conversation.
"I apologise for the interuption, sir, but what Laws of Armed Conflict? This is war, isn't it, not a game of paintball? At some point, m'am, you're gonna have to shoot back. Or you will be shot yourself. Why did you sign up if you don't like holding guns?
Again, I apologise, sir." Mick finished.

You may want to actually research the Laws of Armed Conflict. Seeing as they are at the very least an annual training course all formal military members must take that dictates the rules of engagement in war (you'r character was a marine and probably had these drilled into his head for years). Chaplains, medical personel, prisoners, and civilians are under the "non-combatant" category and can NOT be fired at unless they are wielding a weapon. Even if they are a detriment to your mission. These are the same types of rules that prevent nuclear war from breaking out cause "all's fair in war". Since this hasn't escalated to nuclear war and that the US isn't trying to rule the world (only steal all it's oil), I'm guessing the rules didn't just go out the window.

After having failed to keep her concern private over the loud gunfire, her reply to Mick was annoyed, nearly to the point of being aggrivated. "You're right twit, this is war, and last I checked I'm the one that'll be picking the bullets out of your pin sized scrotum. I joined to save lives, not take them. Glad to know you're on the Nazi bandwagon though. If killing them doesn't work, kill them some more. That's fine, but if I'm getting shot at it means you're not doin' your job. I'll do my job, and you do yours. Sound good?"

<spoiler=iThinkCat> I know non-combatants can't be shot unless carrying a weapon, and Mick does too. But he's pissed at the Americans waging war at anyone who won't give them oil, and thus chooses to ignore these kind of rules. He beleives they have too, by attacking whole countries for such a meager reason. As such, he has convinced himself they will shoot all of the opposition, medics, POWs and Civillians alike. Of course they probably don't, but Mick has already convinced himself otherwise. He believes Nuclear War is just a step away once the US have taken the oil. [/spoiler]

Mick had half expected the angry response.
He'd angered women before, and mentally kicked himself for coming off aggresively in the first place.
"Yep. Sounds good.."
He replied, before adding "..Sorry." timidly.

Nadia raised her weapon to fire again. Click!

She looked down at her MP5, bewildered. She had only fired it a few times. Must've jammed. She flicked the safety on and removed the magazine, then pulled the bolt back a few times. The offending round fell to the floor. She put the magazine back in, and pulled the bolt again, the gun now ready to fire.

Thomas picked up the weapons and walked outside towards the firing ranges.

I've got to figure this stuff out. I've used a pistol before but this...thing. Why can't they give me a rifle?

He stood, examining every aspect of the MP5. He figured out the safety and the bolt easily enough but he still didn't know what to expect when firing it.

For the love of god, don't mess up. Don't mess up.

He waited, examining the weapon and trying to get psyched up for the examination.

Traveling home today, won't be able to post here until way later tonight. If the firing drill ends before that, I'm okay with it. I know how Thomas is going to perform :)

Waiting for some of the people to clear out of the way, Luke grabbed a MP5. The foreign piece of metal felt heavy in his inexperienced hands. Watching how the others had handled it and how they performed with their techniques, Kimmel looked down the iron sights and squeezed the trigger at center mass. 14 rounds climbed up from the chest to above the head. Readjusting himself, he fired the remaining rounds at the crudely drawn target, hitting it some of the time, missing mostly.

Satisfied with his first time firing a submachine gun, he switched it out with the Glock. Back in the Texas, like everyone else, he had a handgun, Walther P99, that he fired at the firing range once a week. He had to leave it behind when he migrated to France with his wife and child two years ago.

With the Glock's safety switched off, the took aim at the center of the target, and squeezed off seventeen bullets within a foot of his intended target.

"Just like ridding a bike." he commented as he placed his weapon back on the table.

Johann selected one of each the weapons that Emerson had offered, then made his way along the dingy platform to the firing range outside. He squinted and put his hands over his eyes as he walked into the bright sunlight.

What I would give for a good pair of sunglasses now.

He waited behind another recruit for a free target; he watched those currently firing with a mixture of interest and apphresion.

Why a good half of these can't have had any real experience; this isn't going to be like the old days, when I was with a team of well-trained professionals and it was more my job to repair than fight.

The blond man in his mid-thirties shooting in front of him however impressed Johann with his handling of the Glock. He stepped up the man as he placed his weapon back onto the table.

"That was some good shooting there, where did you learn that?"

With a sense of pride, Luke told the man behind him.

"When you grow up in the country, there are a few required skills you need to learn. Plus, where I live, I think there is a law that requires every one to own at least one gun. You should see me with a hunting rifle."

Sorry guys, due to a rather drastic change in circumstances which I'm not really able to go into, I am no longer able to participate. Thanks for the place though, and enjoy.

The man's Texan accent surprised Johann very much; for a second he was left completely speechless. Of all the nationalities that someone fighting with them might be, this was the one that he had least expected.

This war is less black and white than I thought.

"You're an American?" he said confusedly as he readied his borrowed MP5 for the range "What the... I mean... why? Why are you here?"

Gar grabbed a seat on top of a few empty barrels that were neatly stacked up, a few scattered around the place.
"Ha. If she thinks she can protect herself against the Americans by simply not carrying a gun she's more naive than I thought"
He whispered his thoughts to himself as he pulled out his razor and began flicking it back and forth, stopping sometimes to spin it around his finger or trim his fingernails.

Sorry for the shortage in posts. I've been REALLY busy with work. It's been hectic, 7-18 work hours, but tomorrow is the last day and it's going to be fairly quick so I should get back to normal postings in the coming days. Except on the 24th :D

Emerson looked at the guns, as if staring long enough would give him the answer to Mick's question.

"I have no idea.", he finally replied, "Lord knows how long they've been in storage, or where they came from even. We found them, they looked alright, so we used them. I'm guessing that considering we've got about twenty of them, they were brought here specifically for our use on the battlefield. That, and the shitload of ammo that came with them."

Emerson then took a few more seconds to himself to try and think of a better answer, this time staring into the sky with his mouth screwed up toward the right side of his face. Just when he was on the verge of a semi-intelligent answer, J'amie and Mick began to exchange some quite stern words.

"Rules don't mean much anymore.", he chipped in as Mick finished talking, "But I can't force to you to do anything to don't want to I suppose. You're all technically volunteers. Still, you'll be issued this whether you like it or not. Medic or no medic, I'm not sending anyone out ill-equipped."

Nadia fired the rest of the Glock clip into the target, and surveyed her hits. She had landed most of the shots in the chest, along with two in the face. She shrugged and clicked forward the slide, then placed it in her pocket. She lifted the MP5 up and fired the rest of the clip.

"Alright, that's the last bullet," she said, turning to Emerson. "Did I do well, sir?" she asked.
