Also, what are the weapon options? Are we literaly allowed anything, or are we limited to modern or WW2-era weapons, or what?

The thing is; the lack of oil (Crude or otherwise) makes it so that most aircrafts and tanks lack fuel. Being the conquerer that it is, America managed to get its hands on a small supply of the stuff, so they'll have the occasional moving vehicle, but England, being cut off by the rest of the UK and a conquered Europe coastline, has little to no fuel anymore. They use the 'One Soldier, One Gun, Five Bullets' method.

This also has consequences for the amount of electricity the ECA has, because most of it comes from low-output Solar-and wind farms. This leads to a shortage of power for some parts of the country.

I'll have you know the Russians have tanks that can run off of Vodka, no joke. They may be the old T-34s they still have from WWII for who knows why, but I guess in the premise of this RP it was a good strategy on their part. To be fair it was one of the greatest tanks of its time, and I guess a good WWII tank is better than no tank.

Yeah, but I'd wager that England doesn't have enough T-34's to create a proper offensive or even a proper defense. Same goes with Wodka, or any other 'alternative' fuel*, massive amounts are needed to fuel an aircraft or any vehicle.

*I heard they used Olive-oil once to power a car. Needed gallons upon gallons.

I was refering to Russia, not England. And the Vodka wasn't an intended "alternate fuel", it was just a desperate accident. Besides, if Russia were to seriously consider mobilizing thousands of T34s they wouldn't have any Vodka left to drink. I don't think they are that desperate yet.

Maybe we'll get to see a sweet mix of modern day firearms and medieval technology (ie, catapults, crossbows, etc).

I'm sure modern firearms are still around. They don't require oil and everyone has stockpiled enough bullets to kill everyone on the planet several times over. But seeing as we are a malitia, we probably will have to "acquire" all our weapons, and be happy with whatever we can get.

Ha, ha. I don't think there's anything wrong with going guerilla in a situation like this. I mean, it even makes sense tactically (in my mind,) seeing as how it can be used as a silent weapon, an explosive, or a grappling hook.

Bloody hell, I do remember you! Hello again, it's certainly been a while since I last visited these wonderful forums. Not much seems to have changed though, which actually kinda surprised me. I thought everything would be all shiny and different.

Little question, don't suppose if you know whether NewClassic still inhabits the Escapist? He was brilliant.

I didn't mean that we'd be fighting with bows and spears or anything, only that we could see a mix between the old and the new. Horsemen with firearms and grenades fighting infantry, crossbows and bolt-action rifles fighting submachineguns, that sort of thing.

That's what I was hoping.
Would be awesome to have a sort of mix'n'match armoury of the resistance; some people having scavenged or home-built WW2 shotguns, and another having a fresly stolen, clean US-Army ACR.

Few months back? Just a bunch of folks joining up and posting crap. Someone took a screenshot of some 4chan thread saying they'd attack the Escapist and put it up in a thread, around the time it was happening. Folks put two and two together.
