Could be an otter, however there is literally nothing to compare it against to determine the size of it. the clear wake after it would suggest it is actively moving to the right, so is unlikely to be driftwood or an inanimate object since there is no tidal movement in a lake. It could be an eel, I heard that sterile eels can grow phenomenally broad.

Basically its a crap photo that neither confirms nor disproves anything, perfect for speculation. My theory is its Brian Blessed out for a morning swim.

There's a reason these picture always appear grainy and out of focus:

It's because nobody looks at a blotch in the fog and thinks "that's probably a log or something". Nope, it's a lake monster. If it really existed there would be some clear pictures of it among all the crappy ones.

Hardly enough to change my opinion that lake monsters can be reasonably explained- thought its much more fun to think that there is something there and brings adventure and hope to look for it.

Everyone's going to say how this is 'further proof' of the Loch Ness monster, but again, its just wishful thinking.
I don't think I'll believe in any of these creatures as they're fervently described until it can be captured alive, or something substantial in the sense of video evidence and everything. It's very mysterious, of course. You'd think if these things were real there would have been much better cases for their existence.

i have nothing against the idea of a lake monster existing. but i believe that if it did exist, can we actually get some decent evidence of it?

The hilarious thing about all these hoaxes is that the photographers hardly ever explain how they just happened to be holding the camera when they saw whatever they claim to have seen, or why their cameras are so blurry all the time. Besides, these guys aren't even trying! That could be anything!
THe funny thing is that even if someone took a perfect picture of one of these things, we could just say "Photoshop."

I find it odd that every photo, even modern day ones, of 'lake monsters' are grainy and low quality. Once I actually see a decent photo I'll take the time to analyze it.

And this is why if I'm ever on Loch Ness I'm bringing a gun.

The picture just looks like someone lost two bras and they're now floating down the river. AOL News just wants attention.

Also: anyone notice that the the photos for all these Loch Ness gags ALWAYS in black and white?

You know England, you don't need fancy names to name a log a log, you know..

Also, I have proof that dinosaurs are living among us! And they are really pleasant with photshoots!

That doesn't really look like anything to me at all. o_O

I just see something floating in the water. "Monster" is not the first thought in my mind.
Especially with all the junk we throw out.

I'm not precluding it, but I'm from Jamaica: The Show Me Planet.

Meh...gotta go with the general feel here. No way is that a monster. It looks like ripples from a wave or some such.

It would be cool it if were, but no unless they get something besides a photo that can easily be set up I wouldn't believe it.
I agree. Video would be much more conclusive. Video shot with an IR camera would be better.

I choose to remain skeptical until they get convincing footage of people actually interacting with said critter. Even if it's faked, if they went to that much trouble to set up an animatronic thing like Bruce, they deserve the pleasure of pulling people along a bit.

No. That just looks like junk somebody threw in. That being said I put a lot more stock into the idea of Loch Ness than Bigfoot.
