That was pretty awesome. Now I wish I had a small-sized internet cafe like that where I lived. Somewhere you could go to hang out and make friends. Real bros who protect each othah~!

Knowing myself, I probably would have picked up a monitor and broken it over one of the thieves' backs. Then I'd probably have to pay for it. :( Not a good plan.

They would be prying my DS from my cold dead hands.

Fun fact, those bandanna masks the thugs all seem to like are great handles to choke someone out, just pull it down and grab the back. Or you can start slamming his head into stuff, whatever works.

If all nerds fought back like that, bullies and the like would be the ones to be careful where they tread...
Role reversal? Nerds become bullies and the bullies become nerds?

And if they tried to take my rig I would let them have it. That is, drop it on their heads several times then put it back where it was and dare them to try again.

I was at an overnight LAN party at my university when some thug came in off of the street and tried to take our cash box (totaling more than $400). He just grabbed it and tried to run off, but some vigilent gamers by the door managed to trip him up on his way out.

A girl I know who happened to be sponsoring the event grabbed him, twisted his arm around, and threw him to the floor. At that point, myself and about 5 other gamers jumped on him and held him until police arrived. I ended up getting out of the dogpile and rounding up larger, more athletic gamers (who knew? They DO exist) to act as enforcers if he managed to wrestle free.

I was tempted to give him a, "Boot to the head," since I was wearing my brand new combat boots that night, but I figured it would hurt our case if I had. I have to admit... I have never been more tempted to seriously injure someone in my life - especially since he deserved it.

The best part was that he was still belligerant when the police tried to take him away, so he got maced a few times.

On the downside, he pissed on the floor. I'm not sure whether he was just that intoxicated or just that terrified, but if I had to guess, the former was the most likely.

The moral:

Don't fuck with gamers!

I have a photo of him on my old cell phone - being held by a pile of nerds. I'm hesitant to post it though since I'm not sure whether charges are still pending; even though it was over a year ago. Needless to say, I take a glance at it whenever I need a laugh. He looks so stupid.

If I can find my old phone, I may download the photo and post it here if the people involved in the incident say it's ok. :)
Blur out everyone's faces...

It would be interesting to just SEE that XD

No faces needed...
I may just do that. I will probably have it up sometime around Tuesday night.

Idiots. You don't LOOK for people's berserk buttons. Geeks are weird folks, and when the button gets pushed, they stop thinking rationally and start thinking 'Headshot for maximum damage!'. Dudes should just be glad the guy didn't have a pen, or this would've ended up like that Comic-Con incident.

anyone think its strange that i kept thinking some1 needed to grab a blunt object to strike them with? or maybe a chair?
Kinda wished I was there, I always carry a knife on me, and lord help anyone trying to steal from me who doesn't visibly have a gun in their hand.
Really? And people wonder why some say games make you violent...

A word of advice to the guys that were standing around watching: when your friends are fighting back and you can plainly see there's no gun involved MAN UP AND HELP YOUR BOYS OUT!!! I know most gamers won't fight back, but come on, all they needed was just a little extra muscle. Oh I also love how the "breaking point" was when they tried to take the DS and not when the owner got rocked in the face...TWICE!!!

P.S. Mad respect to the "DS guy". He got clocked in the face multiple times and kept on scrapping. That's how you do it!!!

This sounds absolutely ridiculous, but strangely awesome at the same time.

Seems bullshit that the suspects were released "pending further investingation"

How much more evidence to the police need?
WHAT!
Is it just me or do the police departments just seem to have the intelligence of snails at times like these.
This happened in Liberty City, so the police took a portion of their money and any weapons they had before letting them go.

Ok, I do not know what to say.

I do not know why, I just do not know.

But I guess I am cool with this.

I Buh-Lee Dat!!!

One of the worst beat downs I ever saw was some douchbag who suffered a serious ass kicking by the hands of a nerd. Apparantly this kid was actually a state contender for wrestling in high school, lightweight division, he totally owned this guy who was way bigger and muscular the he was. It was brutal.

Could you imagine if they had tried to steal the brand new starcraft 2 games? I'm doubtful that one guy would be still alive.

ggnorekthnxbai indeed.

Also, I think those would be robbers loose they're streetcred.... forever.

Yeah, because it's totally the games that makes him carry a knife.

OT: Yeah, nerds aren't pushovers anymore. Lets see someone try to steal a game I own. Last guy who did was bigger than me and i still knocked his ass out.
