I'm another who's started just changing the year to something before 1990 and not wasting my time putting it in accurately. Wish I could just enter it without going through drop down menus.

I wouldn't mind it if sites actually remembered your damn birthdate (gametrailers, steam for example), but no, that barely happens, so I've resorted to putting it in as quick as possible.

I used to actually enter my D.O.B (at least the one I'd have had if I were old enough at the time... Cough) but after a while I thought to my self "wait! they don'y actually check this shit why do I care?" and just hit a random day month and any year from the early eighties, though if I'm feeling especially immature I set my age just about as high as it'll go, just for the inherent funnyness of a 107 year old looking for (for example) midget porn, I'm not sure why but the idea just cracks me up.

no need to lie, but as the title of this thread notes, there is really no reason to put in my actual birthdate when just putting in random months/days and scrolling down to the early 1900s is so much faster.

Even though I'm old enough to view whatever, I lie simply to avoid having to click and scroll down the day and month boxes... Its so tedious...

1st few times I entered the right age, but nowdays I just scroll way down and hit a random year. Extra points if it makes me over 80 years old.

I put in the correct year, but never the day and month.

If they used these boxes as a method of research, they'd probably find that 90% of the world was born on January first.

I'm way past the age gate but i still go tab, tab, scroll enter just cause its quicker (jan 1st 1970-1990) or if its one you put in manually 1, 1, 1987. I dare say there are a ton of ppl who do jan 1+random year.

I like to put February 31 1991. You know, a day that doesn't actually exist. It's even better that every website takes it and only looks at the year.

Thats awesome!!!

I'm going to do that too.

I wonder if sites use the data to tell how old their users are?

I just wish that if you were signed into something, especially if it uses a credit card, so say, Steam, that it'd bypass the age checks, if I have a valid card, and you already hve my age on record, I don't need to keep verifying myself, surely?

It's also annoying that if you mess up the check on Steam, it remembers for ages.

I always put the actual month and day, but for the year I go all the way back, as far as possible. Sort of funny to think I could be 150 years old and watching a video about some rated M game. But really if you tried to search for the video then you're going to lie about your age to watch it. I suppose if it was a random video you didn't know anything about it might deter you?

I never go through the hastle. I just use the default month and day and enter some random year. No reason to actually do it anyway.

I never enter my actual age. I'm too lazy. Why find my actual birthdate in three lists when I can just tell them I was born in 1910 and get the same effect? :p

Im 22 but i lie because its faster to only change the year than give my accurate DOB which isn't actually needed. Steam blocks some mature games unless you add a DOB (if not logged in) so i just hit a random year thats older than 18

I lied about my age to play Microsoft gaming zone back in the 90s, other than that I never needed to.
