What do you think is the most EPIC scene in a movie?

I'll start with the obvious.

The part in Snatch when Mickey gets back up and kills that other boxer, then kills Brick Top.

Faramir charging at the orc-captured city, while pippin sings for the king (LotR)
Tom cruise and Katsumoto horseback-charging swords drawn at the machine-gun in the last samurai.
When the sentinels break into Zion in matrix revolutions.

And my all-time favourite, the assault on the courthouse in Boondock saints, that's as awesome as it gets

5th Element - The fight scene with the opera singer singing away in the background. with out the music it isn't special, but that singers voice strikes something very special (the un synthesised bits)

Gotta go with Helm's Deep, right before the battle started when the elves showed up until the first arrows are fired.

EDIT: Amazingly, every movie that has been named so far is on my DVD shelf.

This. Also in Fight Club when Brad Pitt is getting the shite kicked out of him by the owner of the pub and he just laughing and taunting the owner. Pitt bleeds all over the owner shouting "YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE I'VE BEEN" like a crazy son of a *****.

this. I forgot about this scene, but I must agree, the music, and opera singers (who looked like a child between smurfette and Sigourney Weaver) dancing definitely make this scene great.

A second choice might be the first time you see the t-rex in Jurassic Park. That movie will go down in my history as the best theater experience I have ever had.

Most "epic?"

-The last fight in The Gladiator.
-The "entering the Copa" scene from Goodfellas.
-The first meeting of the families in The Godfather.

I'm sure I'll think of more.

I would say... probably in Mind Hunter's, when J.D got iced (pun intended) with liquid hydrogen. For one with a fascination with water and ice, that totally kicked ass!

Almost any scene from Fight Club.
The dream sequences from the Manchurian Candidate, though those might be more intense than epic.
"THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
The ending of the last episode of Cowboy Bebop. Bang.
