You know, those ones that really stand out. Did you destroy an enemy army? Get your ass handed to you? Use a great strategy?

I was playing Napoleon: Total War a few months ago as the British. I had invaded Greece and was pushing north when I was set upon by a French army of largely infantry and a few units of cannon. Their infantry, which was the standard foot, had some experience (two or three chevrons).
I prepared to do battle, and when placing my troops discovered the greatest defense: a rectangular cliff with only one end opening into a hill.
I placed my cannons (three or four units) and my light foot (have better range than standard foot) on the cliff. Guarding the slope onto the cliff, I placed my elite infantry: the 88th Connaught Rangers and the King's German Legion of Foot, supported by two units of Highland Foot. In the forest beside the cliff, I placed three unit of foot. My cavalry were hidden in the forest behind, and my remaining infantry placed beside the slope.
The French were pummeled by my cannon as they advanced. They didn't bring theirs to bear, probably 'cause mine had better range and they would have been virtually ineffective. When they got to the cliff, they were either surprised by my troops in the forest, picked off by my light foot of swiftly taken care of by my elites. It was over pretty quickly, and my cavalry mopped up whoever was left.
Now, I have to invade Denmark and then take Hamburg with less than a year remaining. This should be interesting.

Company of Heroes Omaha Beach-head anyone? Pretty epic but these two other battles couldn't compare.

2v2 Insane Mode, played Dark Crusade with a friend and the battle was huge, very fun.
1v1 Supreme Commander Skirmish, I got the Fatboy out and began to mow down the enemy!

Blitzkrieg 2, Berlin on Hard Mode. That was a very epic battle. Nearly lost too.

Almost every online match of Company of Heroes. The Scheldt, as previously mentioned, comes to mind as a particularly intense map.

Had an hour and a half match on Company of Heroes last night, I held about %75 of the map for most of the game and had an amazing start, then last at around 400-200 he grabs the second point. For awhile it's back and forth then he gets a load of defences on it and I can't get a flank in and I ended up losing 40:0.

Great game though.

Homeworld had the most epicness of epicidity! I wonder if people still play...hmmm

Srsly, pretty much every online battle was pretty epic...unless you got owned. Then you would probably just say they maphacked or something.

Edit: The same cannot be said for Homeworld: Cataclysm tho where they limited the number of ships you could have.

Plenty in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.

I've played matches that literally lasted DAYS worth of hours!

EDIT: Just looked up one of my online matches to see my longest saved replay. FUCKEN 211 HOURS!

Company of Heroes. Wrecked train. I was playing as Wehrmacht against US forces who was spamming rangers. I dug in at the hay field on the left side of the map which has those barracks-like buildings. I had 2 MG42 squads, 1 halftrack, 1 Volks-squad and 1 Grenadier squad. I put the MGs in the biggest house, parked the HC next to the house and then they came and by God in numbers they came. The battle went past my eyes, must have been the adrenaline but when I gained my sight back, all the Rangers were dead and all my squads were alive and well. He left soon after.

C&C Tiberian sun firestorm

On the last level vs the core defender, i had never faced one single tough unit in an RTS before and it trashed me. Sent in my mammoth mark II expecting an epic slugfest, MMII got the first hit in but didnt even scratch the core defenders health bar which was obviously a bad sign then it died from 2-3 hits from the core defender, sent in my army of titans which didnt fare much better. So then i thought "oh ill use the firestorm wall and kill it that way" but the thing blew up the wall sections from a significant distance away. So i packed up my MCV and ran back across the bridge i came from with a couple of titans and a harvester then blew the bridge up. In my attempt to survive by blowing up the harvester and trying to grow tiberium from it i just gave up and started the level again.

Its easy to beat the thing but that first time it totally took me by surprise and i was so not prepared for it...

Supreme Commander 2. Built so many long range artillery cannons the game froze every time they shot. These cannons are used for long range base sieges, as they fire rather slowly and are fairly inaccurate.

Oddly enough, when half your unit cap is taken up by them, not a single unit can cross the map. FUCKING BOMBARDMENT.

So many epic games of Brutal Legend... Defending a fan geyser with a Skull Raker against hordes of Bouncers, of all things. Sneaking a group of Roadies past my enemy's huge army and destroying their stage while they're distracted. Getting my Rock Crusher stolen by the other guy's Organist and having him drive it right into my own damn stage.

And my most recent game, in which I was matched against someone much better than me, but yet still managed to win by ignoring the fan geysers and just rushing his stage with a Battle Nun and a few Soul Kissers and Punishing Parties, and just about managing to keep everything alive enough to keep pumping out units with the Battle Nun by his stage.

Beating the last mission on C&C Red Alert 2 on the hardest difficulty with one chrono trooper. That was pretty cool.

I had been playing Medieval II: Total War as the Turks. My empire included North Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, and what is now Southwest Russia. I was pushing west into the Balkans, and North into Russia. I had several armies on the move, consisting of heavy Janissaries, cavalry archers, and cannons.
Then, the Timurids invaded.
In what is now Iraq or Saudi Arabia, a gigantic horde appeared, probably 8 or 9 armies. All of my best troops were too far away, and there was nothing I could do except yank the militias from my cities and hope to pick them off one by one.
I caught one army on it's own, and set upon it with two armies (consisting of militia and a few regular troops).
Their elephants plowed through my men, and I lost almost all of them, barely making a dent in their ranks. I got my ass handed to me, but it was freaking cool to watch.
I eventually waited it out, as they had almost no infantry to speak of and thus couldn't man siege equipment to attack my cities with, and won the campaign.

Oh yes, Homeworld! Having a couple of Destroyers and Heavy Cruisers hyperspace in right on top of an enemy Mothership and blasting it to bits never gets old. Or hyperspacing in a Carrier, dumping a load of Corvettes and Fighters into an enemy formation and jumping the Carrier back out. I love it.

I played a game of Red Alert 2 at the weekend, I had my ass handed to me at first, I lost my Construction Yard before I could get a repair yard built up. So I was stuck with making the basic tanks and so I slugged it out barely defeating each attack as I built tanks and men in between harvesters.

Eventually I managed to mass enough troops to take out my enemies but only after a long hard fight during which my friends had insisted I should give up and start again as there was no way I could win.

Watching the Enemy take out your Construction Yard - Painful
Listening to your friends say you can't win - Annoying
Hearing the words "You are Victorious" - Priceless
