First off, i'm aware this has been done before, but that's never stopped anyone else from repeating threads now has it?

Anyway, epic video game music.
I'm sure we've all heard at least one track from a game that has given us eargasms! (um...)

Heres my contribution! Epicness starts at around 26 seconds in.

I can't even remember hearing that in the game, but it sounds awesome!
Your turn!

The Witcher, boss battle 1. It's short, but it's sweet. Who ever thought you could combine an electric guitar with traditional instruments and still make it work.

I'll stick more Reach music in here. Such an amazing soundtrack. The awesome begins at 55 seconds:

I see your Halo: Reach and rase you three Halo 3: ODST...

This little number from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World game also fits the bill quite nicely:

Throw in some gratuitous rock music from the Shoutoku Battle games:

Sprinkle in what is quite possibly one of the greatest main menu themes ever:

And finally a dash of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune to send you on your way:

Since I'm just feeling lazy right now I'll post the obvious track that surprisingly hasnt come up.

It's always epic, hell it's probably the best fitted definition of epic game music. The epic and bombastic nature of it that also gives off this frightening tone at the same time that amalgamates into a swirl of emotions that leaves the listener in a state of awe.

And let's not forget this rendition of it:

This version contrasted exceptionally well with Crisis Core and ol Sephy in that game. A more menacing and majestic rendition that maintains the essence of the original song while adding a different overall emotional tone to it. It sent chills down my spine the first time I heard it and fit so god damn well with the character/situation and made out the fight to be incredibly menacing.

This one gets my vote! :D

Just plain awesome.

The slow but steady build up and it slowly progresses up to 00:45 when it all starts to flow. Finally 1:14 as it beats you into liking it.

Edit: Quality isn't the best but it really doesn't affect its epicness

I say "Otherworld" from FFX.

I still remember playing it the first time and seeing that video thinking "Oh my god.. this game is going to be awesome!" and then realizing 80 hours later it was really just astoundingly meh.

But the song is still very epic, especially in a Jrpg context. Arguably one of the best things in the game.

Every time I see a thread like this, I have to mention Grandia.

The 8-bit music from games like Mega Man 2, Contra 3, Mario, Street Fighter 2, etc.
There so god damn good. Games these days don't seem to have those types of music.
