Epic "would love Gears of War on PS3"

Apparently however Microsoft continually gives Epic "compelling reason's" to work with them. I Wonder what those could be?

Why? The game would certainly benefit from the added horsepower.

Money is a good reason indeed. I played the first Gears on PC and thought it was okay, wouldn't mind seeing them come to PS3, though they aren't titles I'd cream for.

EDIT: Also no doubt they'd be revamped versions and there'd be an uproar from the 360 community...

You do realize that there are simply more xboxs in existence right?

Microsoft bribes aside, just from a marketing stand point its more profitable to make a game for the PC and Xbox360, since they are both X86 processor archtypes. One development cycle with some minor port tweaks and you have a single game for two platforms (with a total combined user base that FAR passes all the PS3s).

Granted gears probably wont be released to Pc for a while, but they did eventually port the first one to pc. (Im just saying they could port it to PC really easily if they wanted to).

Hears the truth PS3 kitties, your console has the fewest units sold out of the current 3 available. Sony knows this, and thats why they have the most exclusives out of everyone. I could say the EXACT same argument you just gave for gears about killzone3. They would have made more money if they had released that for 360 and pc than ps3 alone.

Actually one of the main reasons why I will never own a PS3 is because I hate companies that need to enslave tons of exclusives. Its a form of proprietary marketing and it needs to die off. (that and I disagree with sonies public policies)

If by some miracle it came to PS3 I wouldn't buy it, I don't like TPS in general (I can cope with it in some games though).

It just looks so damn boring, it looks like a generic game made to look awesome, "Lets stick a chainsaw on a machine gun!", "lets make all the guys meat heads and there equipment uber chunky!" etc etc.

Epic, you can keep your game. I shall Enjoy my resistance 3 (I don't really like any PS3 exclusives, there are a few though).

EDIT: I think it's funny reading another posters "we don't gears on the PS3" comment, EPIC are saying "we want the PS3 to have gears" and the PS3 owners saying as one man "we don't want it", I bet they would feel gutted.

I think maybe gears could be a good bargaining chip with sony. Maybe an exclusive for and exclusive trade. I know they say a lot of ps3 games can't run on xbox, but that's only a size thing I don't think anyone would care if uncharted was on separate discs.

Anyway as an owner of all 3 consoles and a decent PC I dont care if its not coming out on one platform. Though a prefer PS3 usage because I just find it easier to use.

In Gears defense, it's more or less the original "chest-high-walls" shooter (save for Kill.Switch). Say what you want about the story, Gears gameplay mechanics are ridiculously well-polished.

Personally, I'm still waiting for Gears 2 and 3 to come to PC. And I imagine I'll be waiting a long time...

Ok. Heres the skinny, I've pretty much kept quiet about "exclusive" type threads. But I need to say something.

I envision a future where people can game across all platforms. No one console is superior, no one console is the best. After a player shoots another in the head, no longer will the racial or homosexual slurs fly, but a hearty "Good Shot" will be heard over the mic. A Utopian future where people can pick which console to play Super Mario Universe 4. Me personally, I enjoy all 3 consoles. I love my Wii, for Super Smash Bros Brawl and Zelda: Twilight Princess. I enjoy the 360 because honestly, in my opinion, it has the best controller for First Person Shooters. I enjoy the PS3 because of the sheer variety of games and applications I can download from the Playstation Network. All systems have their good points and bad points. And I may be going off on a rant here, but getting back to the topic, I envision a future where Gears is on all 3 platforms.

Nintendo: I'll trade you a Zelda if you trade us Uncharted.
Sony: Uncharted wont run on the Wii.
Nintendo: Yes it will, we just have to put it on 10 discs.

Nintendo: We'll get you a Super Mario Hat.

I'd allow Microsoft to cover my dev expenses too. And they get a free kickass marketing campaign. You can't deny that Gears 3 has been promoted better than just about all of the PS3 exclusives that have ever been made combined (exception of Uncharted 2), and it's still several months away from release.

they will be released packed in with Jazz Jackrabbit 1 and 2 HD and Unreal 3: Battle for Na'Pali

You can do that... You just need to be Addicted to FFXI... Hell you could get a party going with someone on Ps2, Ps3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Although it was nice to get ME2. :-D. But then again, I imagine Gears would feel like Killzone in 3rd person... and i don't like killzone soooo, pass.

If Gears of War were to come on the PS3 then I'd give be willing to give it a try. The games do look pretty fun although I'll have to get past the character designs.

On the subject of this idea, God of War for Gears of War. I don't know why but I can just see that happening
