I have yet to see this movie, but it's always interesting seeing another side of the story. For my part, I just haven't seen it yet because I'm already backed up on catching up with the series. Doesn't really matter, but still, show first, then movie. I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it, but at least you gave it a chance rather than totally ignoring it because of the idea, like far too many MLP fans.

According to your review, this movie was shit.
I'm not surprised. Hasbro never, ever, EVER (possibly with exceptions, I haven't seen many Hasbro movies) makes good movies.

They can make a good cartoon that runs for about 30 minutes, but give them the task of creating a feature-length movie with one set goal or ending throughout, and and their department just explodes. No, really. I can see the fire from here. It's still on fire. That's how bad the explosion was.

And yes, the explosion is a metaphor for... um... Hasbro being bad at movies. I don't know.

/me switches off 'trying-to-be-smart' mode.

No, I haven't watched it. I've watched parts of it... it was just confusing and I may have been drunk at the time.
Or that might have been the actual effect of watching something so confusing.

Side-Note: Aaaaaaaaaaargh! Did you see what they did to Luna?! My favourite character! Damnit Hasbro!

Is it okay to just...not wanna see this movie because it looks like it sucks? Just on it's own merits, it looks like a really bad, overly long episode with too many plotholes to count, a forced love interest, rehashing old themes and from what I saw on youtube, some reeeeally bad Barbie-Doll movie music. Like, worst songs of the franchise. Screw hating the premise, nothing good seems to have come from this.

Wait, were there rave reviews for this? I know the brony fandom has problems with zealots who would sooner bite their own tongues off and drown themselves in blood than admit anything is wrong with their precious Friendship is Magic, but when i mentioned elsewhere that i watched Equestria Girls because i was in one of those shit movie moods, the same mood that lead to me watching The Wicker Man and The Room among others with Rifftrax commentary, the bronies there said Equestria Girls sucked and that i shouldn't have even bothered.
