??? Confused are you?

That right there.

He spoiled the entire plot line, by pointing out that this is a halucination, and Link is the guy she is talking to.

You just keep digging yourself deeper into that hole, Erin.

That hasn't been revealed yet, if it will be at all. You shouldn't take what he said as gospel truth. It's not a spoiler, it's speculation.

Sorry what's a white night complex?
Simply put, thinking that being a 'nice guy' means treating every woman you come across like they're some kind of damsel in distress, who can't look after themselves and needs you as both physical and emotional support. Something which is now considered just as misogynistic and arrogant as the 'caveman' approach to women, only with a dose of patronizing thrown in as well.
What this guy said.

Ergo, "white knight in shining armor".

Unfortunately, people like to throw it around a lot at anyone who defends/is nice to a woman.

Okie dokie, number one I'm not a dude and number two, "I bet" is the same as "I guess," "I suspect," or "I think." When I looked at the character that was what I suspected after a heavy amount of sleep deprivation - even now I'm running on two hours sleep as I type this up.

As Taunta said, it was merely personal speculation. Mind you if I'm right I get to add another point of proof to the 'sleep deprivation = psychic powers' wall. Normally though I'm wrong about these things being a bad luck magnet and what not, so no need to worry.

As to the "knight and shining armor" comment, any respectable human being should watch out for their fellow wo/man. That's not being a lady's "knight," that's being a good person. You see someone alone in a bar, not another soul near them, not checking their phone like they're waiting on someone to show up, go and chat, be friendly and introduce yourself, extend a friendly hand.

I'm an introvert but I can and do enjoy talking to people in a small group (2-3 people mind you). Besides you never know what joy you can bring someone just by asking, "You okay?" Sometimes people want someone to vent to about the hell they've been through and they don't have anyone to vent to. Personally I think listening to them is for the best, especially if you can stop someone from showing up on the 6 o'clock news. I've had many friendly hands extended my way in the past and I'll be damned if I don't return the favor.

Now off to bed and reread this later to see how much I need to recant.

For not sleeping with some random, crazy woman? *rant, seethe*
Do you get that "mad" over other logical choices or are you just plain irrational?

Considering that guy is the writer too, it could have some legitimate point. Just sayin.
Mad? I'm not the one dishing out insults. I'm just questioning why it's OK to call someone gay for not fucking everything that moves.
It was a joke.

and yeah, you are definitely way more mad than is necessary, dial it back a few notches.

Well, considering my joke about "spoilers" also fell flat, and insulted a girl/woman/female, I'm going to add my two cents.

I didn't find that joke funny either, Darkmantle. I'm usually the one that gets called gay. You may think it is funny, but some have heard it 1,000 times, and are tired of it.

Ah, so two people are sour about being made fun of before, and so are doing their level best to take a tongue in cheek comment as seriously as possible. SRS BZNESS this is.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so sensitive then, people probably would call you gay less.

Nah, don't worry 'mate, you didn't insult me I just get "duded" way too often. Hell, on one forum I actually had a little pink female symbol beneath my name after checking the "sure, show my sex" box. I still got called a man/dude and referenced as he - in a completely serious fashion that was facepalm worthy.

In the future though, text has no tone (I have learned this the hard way) so I suggest adding something to show that you're not serious. My preferred method is emotes and (ex.) *shrug* things like that. Others like gifs and memes.

May I suggest having a picture of EDI from Mass Effect going "That was a joke" waiting in the wings and allowing hilarity to ensue?

Edit: That was a tip for both of you, or anyone really who has trouble with joking on the internet.

*sigh* I can't say I like Erin very much after this one. She thinks she meets a nice guy and this is what she does with it? Our protagonist, everyone!

Here's hoping you guys have it covered.
Keep in mind she is having a pretty shitty night, being drunk rarely brings out the best in everyone. I feel she is the protagonist but that doesn't mean everything she does has to be right.
Yes, indeed, I agree. What I mean is that because she's made a lot of mistakes by now, she's become far less sympathetic. Have a blundering buffoon of a main character, by all means, but if they go a bit too far without any sort of redeeming quality or hope for redemption somewhere, then it's harder for us, the audience, to sympathise with their struggles. I, personally, am going to lean slightly more towards the idea that this is all Erin's fault without any excuse beyond her being a bad person. I'd like that not to be wrong without turning her into a saintly goody two-shoe, which is why I voice this concern.

It has nothing to do with being sensitive, actually. I'm in the unusual position of being a 27 year old virgin that does not flirt, doesn't check girls out, doesn't talk about girls, and doesn't look at porn. Ie, a complete lack of a sex drive.

I like the EDI idea actually, I'll have to use that, thanks.

I dunno about this guy, but if I were him I'd bang her, if only to get her out of the way.

I like how "white knights" are now a "complex," like empathy and sympathy are some kind of mental disorder.
