Well looks like I will have to cancel my ESA membership and block my email. *sigh* So sad...

I've sent a (polite) email to the ESA requesting them to rescind their support of SOPA. It's a small drop of water in an ocean, but in the end they answer to the public. Same with every corporation involved. Some of these corporations have already learned their lessons, we just need to get the rest of them.

Still, there's no facepalm big enough for this whole situation. We have some of the largest scale riots in the entire country and congress is still looking for ways to give corporations even more power. It's like they're trying to cause a violent revolution.

Maybe it's just my negative mind but when the ESA is supporting the bill and Sony, EA, and Nintendo are members of the ESA. Then the three pull their support.
When they do stuff like this it seems, to me, that the three are still in support of the bill but have thought it out on a business long run. When the bill fails the three companies can say "Oh we saw it as a bad thing and we were there for you, our valued customers" Wonderful PR Bull.
If the bill somehow passes they can say that they are "glad to be part of the ESA" so either way they come out on top.

All this will do is hurt the industry. It's fine, when videogames are gone, people will simply move to other means of entertainment. We all know that SOPA isn't the answer. Well, everyone but the people who make these decisions. The companies supporting what the ESA is doing should just start doing something else besides making videogames.
it will hurt industries
games isn't one of them.

All this will do is root out the pirates, we wouldn't be at this point without them, so you know who to thank.
It won't only hurt pirates, such a broad sweeping bill cannot just hurt the intended targets. And I think it will definitely adversely effect the gaming industry. I mean, that is my opinion on the matter, but if you're for censorship we simply have little to talk about. You're opinion is different and I can accept that.
