I've not seen that episode of South Park, so when I rolled my eyes, I was not cribbing.
And the plot more resembles Thunderheart than Dances With Wolves, to the point where I expect the main character to inform the villains that the land was, in fact, not for sale.

Yet another vote for me to take my wife to the cinema, shell out for the stale over-buttered popcorn, and enjoy a well-conceived James Cameron tour de force.

On topic, though, this definitely looks like a movie worth seeing. Actually, from this review alone, I'm already more than aware of the fact that the people who are boycotting it because there are no gay characters in it are... well, they're nuts.

Although your review gives the movie praise I still hesitate to see this movie because the overall plot seems so generic and uninteresting.
Good review though, it definitely gave me second thoughts about judging the movie by its overdone advertising campaign and horribly mediocre video game release.

The Deviant Art part was absolutely hilarious. As someone who views that ste quite often, I understand Bob's comment on that completely. Although mind you, I think itt'l be those with the Catgirl fetishes who do it first (and I know a few). Before you know it - BAM! The Na'vi make their way into furry culture (although I doubt it, it would be funny if that happens).

I was kind of skeptical about this movie since I saw the first trailer but now I don't know. I think I might just go see this movie after all.
screw that, it IS a masterpiece... the moment i stepped out of the cinema the first time i knew i wanted to see it again immediately... never before have a i felt like that with a film... i mean sure i've wanted to go see movies again in the past but i'm talking after a few days of contemplation but this i just had to see again right away... and so i've now seen it 3 times... i'm not sure if i should be ashamed of myself...
