Bob. It's time to have an intervention. I don't know if you are a lecherous creep or just playing on TV but it's getting really annoying either way. It's literally interfering with your job. Your job is comment on Buried not get side tracked and start showing pictures of attractive actresses.

1 Attractive movie actresses are not rare.

2 If we wanted to see publicly released stills we would use Google.

3 Women watch this too, or at least would watch it if they weren't discouraged by the blatant fan service and objectification.

4 Using someone's copyrighted photos to boost your view count is pretty low.

I know this video isn't the worst example but it's the straw that broke the camel's back. Have some dignity. You're a 28 year old balding man. Publicly Drooling of pretty women makes you look pathetic. Please stick to your movie reviews and analysis not superficial judgments of women.
I can understand this point of view...and somewhat support it. The Escapist has a female audience, and this audience isn't a small percent, having to listen to a twenty eight year old man drooling over half-naked actresses in suggestive posses isn't exactly the best experience for a woman. As for the video composition - I think stills work nice, especially considering that Bob isn't an artist or capable of drawing. The pictures and occasional trailer works with the narrative so no complains from me there.

P.S. Be grateful that he didn't start his porn star slideshow, cuz' he's already done that...several times...in TGO series.

I read the Tomorrow When the War Began books but I haven't seen the movie. The movie does look like a bit of a departure from them books but pretty close. I know people who have seen it and they say it's good, go see it if you have time.

Dear mr. Movie Bob.
..
Stop. Using. That. F*cking. Smiley.

I recent it. I recent it to my bones! If you're not following which smiley I'm referring to, it's the '=S'ish one. The I'm-a-smiley-that's-supposed-to-emote-discomfort-but-actually-I-just-look-like-a-retarded-person-with-an-eye-displacement smiley.
Get rid of it!

I was also hoping for Let Me In. I'm a big fan of the book and would like to hear a geeky, non-Swedish opinion

lol wut?

So there is gonna be an awesome Superman movie and a crappy Wonderwoman movie but that's going straight to DVD anyway? On balance that's a pretty good result!

I am glad Ryan Reynolds is getting so credibility as a quality actor.

Also, Zack Synder will ruin Superman, that's one thing that should not be in slow-motion.

One more thing, Watchmen was so "meh" as compared to 300's "hell yea!", so why is Watchmen constantly credited as his claim to fame?

I'm Aussie, but I haven't seen Tomorrow, When the War Began, mainly because I tried to read the books when I was younger, but the first one nearly bored me to death. I'm more of a Pratchett person.

I doubt I'll be seeing it in the cinema, but my friends that have seen it all thought it was great, so it's probably worth you having a squiz.

Nice work as always, but I have one mild disagreement about the Wonder Woman rumor.

1. I think superheroes are better suited to TV than movies. Think about it: comic books come out typically once per month. Done right (which they often aren't, I admit), that sort of serialized story telling should translate way better to the weekly format of TV than to the movie format of one two-hour story released every two to four years. When Smallville's good, it's actually pretty fun. It's just that they tried to blend Superman with the teen angst of Dawson's Creek, so when it's bad it's excruciating. Which shouldn't be a problem with better show runners. Bringing me to...

2. If you're pessimistic about anything written by David E. Kelley, you need to watch Boston Legal. A few closing arguments by James Spader as Alan Shore and you'll forget Ally McBeal ever existed. I know I did.

Sounds like the kind of movie I'll either really enjoy or be unable to stand.

In answer to your question re: Tomorrow when the war began: The books are outstanding and something you need to read. To movies I've not yet seen but from what I've been told and seen they suffer from that strange acting most Aussie films and TV shows have. It's also let down by the dialog, whether that's writing or acting I'm getting mixed answers.

I don't think TWTWB will appeal to you Bob.

If you were going to dip into some recent Australian film, I would sooner you see Animal Kingdom. Not sure if/when that has a release in the US yet. Came out here a few months ago.

Regarding Tomorrow When The War Began.

I read the books when I was in high school and was a bit worried when I saw the movie coming out, but I have to say considering the horribly acting I was expecting... It was quite good, and hopefully they will continue the rest of the series, mainly because I think it'll improve as it goes on.

I'm just glad they got someone to play Ellie who isn't completely devoid of emotion, because Ellie definitely has her crazy moments throughout each book.

Good review Bob. Buried will be a definate must see.
"Tomorrow when the war began" is good by Australian Film standards. Another Australian film to check out is "Mary & Max" by Adam Elliot.

yea heard about that (TWTWB). Loved the books at least up until the 4th one. Hopefully the movies do it justice.
