it's look like a rather good movie for kids. But apparently somebody forget to dub it, so it play on a wooping 5 screens in the entire province of quebec, instead of 200...

OT: Just out of curiosity, has any Escapist actually had to move because of a freeway being built? It's something that I see pop up in movies and TV shows from the 80's and 90's all the time, but I've never seen it happen in real life (and I live in Ottawa, which is constantly expanding and running new roads). The worst I can think of is a couple lots being removed, not an entire neighbourhood.
well, not me directly, but i know at least two case of expropriation because of construction. they are redoing the Turcot interchange. i know they have try to bought a lot of homes to do it :

there's also the infamous case of the mirabel airport where they destroyed entire village to build an airport that was decomissionned 20 years later...

Wow... Even before the alien being shows up, the movie already sounds like something I would be interested in watching on one of those uncut movie channels... Also, I keep hearing[footnote]as in, I looked at Jeremy Jahn's review of this movie...[/footnote] how the kids in this movie don't really act like kids of that age act, so that alone is making me a bit hessitent on my possible overall enjoyment of this movie when I do get to see it in the future, probably...

Oh well... At least I think this review was probably more positive than if MovieBob reviewed the movie Tammy instead...
While some kids are crude and crass I don't entirely subscribe to the opinion that they have to or do act like that. At least in my circle growing up we weren't foul mouthed or made crude humor when our parent's backs are turned.
True... I mean, my group consisted of basically introverts making as many obscure TV/movie references we could think of...

But anyway, it's not the fact that I would be hesitant if the kids were or weren't acting crude and/or crass within the context of their age... I would be hesitant if the kids' overall acting seems a bit too forced and (almost) unnatural... (which is weird, considering I did know someone around my age in middle school who did act that way all the time...)

"The movie treats their constant use of electronics as healthy."

And it is, unless you believe the overwhelming majority of the medical community.

Not saying you're necessarily wrong, but if you're going to make a broad sweeping claim like that, at least show some evidence to back it up.

I wasn't a fan of Clerks because it included a brief discussion of Star Wars. I was a fan of that movie because when Clerks came out I was essentially Dante minus the girlfriend, hockey on the roof, and dead guy in the bathroom. I commiserated with Dante, laughed at his antics, and felt the sting at the end when Randal scolded Dante about taking responsibility for his life and happiness. 'Changed my life' is too strong for this movie, but it stuck with me.

Movie Bob, I love you but I know you understand Kevin Smith's appeal better than what you said in this episode and don't understand why you're dismissing him so... inaccurately.
