Reminds me of something someone once said--"You know what's more annoying than Twilight fans? People who go out of their way to tell you how dumb Twilight fans are. You know, the people who butt into any conversation if they overhear the word 'vampire' or 'sparkle' and won't let you walk away until you agree with them how stupid and bad the books must be."

Everytime Bob shits on Transformers 3, I vow to watch it +1 times. I'm not going to shout down anyone who thinks I'm stupid for liking a Michael Bay movie or defend my choice. I'm going to voice my opinion with my wallet.

What a joke of a review. Might as well not even do it since you had a clear aversion to it from the get go. The Rock didn't chase them down just because of cars, but becausee they thought they murdered the DEA agents. (And he broke out of jail twice ... you know what forget it.) And to say the last car chase is merely serviceable is a joke. It was fantastic and barely had any cgi. (Then again you cite Torque ...)

This was one of the better action movies in a while and I'm not even that much of a fan of the series

It's funny how this is The Avengers for douchbags, when the real Avengers has the biggest asshole of all the characters in either movie.

I thought people hated Speed Racer

also near the end did I see two girls make out?
You should watch the entire trailer (I saw it before a screening of Sucker Punch- it [the trailer that is] was terrible). It's PACKED with gratuitous and pointless shots of half-dressed and almost certainly nameless irelevant skanks dancing, writhing, grinding, shaking their asses and, yes, openly making out just for the hell of it. I'm sorry, is Vin Diesel's character in this movie supposed to be an illegal street racer or a pimp? It made my quite ill just to see how shallow and patronising the whole thing was.

Spot on man. When I watch a movie review I expect reasons why the movie is good or bad. You put in a post everything I was too lazy to write up. If it's a bad film or something that Bob doesn't like he doesn't explain it. He just goes off on a tangent about how the entire audience (of the film) must be a douchebag. He just say, "X is bad because the acting is forced/cliched and the story is boring." No he says, "X is made by douchebags, it's a shitty film and it's target audience is a bunch of homophobic/douchebags/stupid jocks/*insert characteristic from a cliche bully*. These reviews are becoming unbearable, Bob's flaming an entire grouping of people for no reason than they enjoyed a movie
Uh, he did. He pointed out that the film is over 2 hours long, has a couple of decent car chase scenes in it, and the rest is people standing around engaging in boring macho bullshit. If that doesn't sound like a fair criticism to you, you may have a different idea of what constitutes a good action movie to most people.

Heh, 30 seconds of movie titles with better car scenes than this.

Cars 2‽ CRAP! I'm never going to get my nephew into dinosaurs, science and other nerdy hobbies, he's going to grow into a motor-head jock.

Bah! Sure there were a few turds in the Fast franchise (i´m looking at you, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift), but the first movie and the 4th were solid popcorn movies. This 5th entry in the franchise looks promising and i hear that the sixth movie will be more focused in the heist movie elements than the illegal racing ones, which is a pretty logical step to me.

It is actually a really bad movie that failed with its sub par acting, bad script, and misguided special effects team. They thought shooting the whole film in focus would be a good idea. It is not. It is never a good idea.
The acting was good and better than it had to be. The script was pretty much exactly the tone of the show, and the dialogue was fine. The effects were clearly done in that cartoony fashion on purpose, and it works. The editing is some of the crispest in any movie, and it's use of intercuts and montages was incredibly unique. The action was great as well. This isn't our world they're in. It's in this zany environment where cars flip and race on something from a matchbox or hot wheels track. People looked at that film with a closed mind.

It's just really sad that ironic, cynical detachment is so in vogue that it's become a capital fucking crime to enjoy a piece of fluffy, escapist entertainment for what it is.

Personally, I'd much rather sit in a theatre with a bunch of "mouthbreathing douchebags" who are actually, you know, enjoying a movie than one full of vitamin deficient, gray-skinned basement dwellers just waiting to work themselves into a tizzy because, GASP!, a comic book movie isn't a 100% faithful recreation of the comic it's based on.

Bob, I'm certainly not the only one who feels this way, and I have almost always enjoyed your videos in the past, but why all the insults? Really, it seems... childish. You know, insulting people by calling them kids and douche-bags because this is what they enjoy? It just kind of feels... unnecessary.

That said, I'm certain you might have picked up on how much you seemed to be insulting fans of this movie, and hopefully you won't go off on too many insult rants in the future.

And no, I'm not a fan of cars or even car movies, I just think Bob can be the better man.

Though I agree this series went a little too long, I personally think all the movies have been pretty entertaining. And you really think DEATHPROOF was a good car movie? Are you out of your frigging mind? That movie was terrible on EVERY level. I'll probably continue to watch your reviews, but lately, I think you're really missing the mark on a lot of them. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion so have at it, especially since it's your job to do so.

U mad bro?

Sorry had to do it.

But really MovieBob your escapist videos have been excessively negative this month. First with the Vick video "Maddening", then Scre4m, to be followed by "Done with Dark", and now this.

Are you okay? Maybe you should consider taking a vacation.

Maybe, a trip to Rio de Janeiro?

Sorry I just had to get that last one in there.

Heh, pretty much all of the interiors were shot right here, in and around Atlanta. Apparently, they could only afford to shoot outside in Rio.

I loved the first and third fast and the furious(I love drifting), but the second and fourth were complete garbage. I don't even want to see this one.

I thought you'd like this a little bit because of the T&A, So I guess that sucked in this then.
Just saw it this afternoon. I actually enjoyed it for what it was (mindless macho fun with some pretty good action), but the T&A did totally suck.

And by suck I mean there really almost wasn't any at all. The female cop who works with Rock's character is pretty nice, but she's in uniform most of the movie. And the one girl on Diesel's crew that they set up to be the major source of hotness in the movie just looks like she really needs to actually eat, never mind walk around in a bikini. I mean, the movie is set in Brazil of all places. Brazil is widely known for having amazingly attractive women in it but they didn't even include any stereotypical Brazil beach shots.

Even though I have no intention of spending my cash to see this at the theater, I just don't see why every time Bob doesn't like a flick he has to spend so much time trashing the audience that may like it.
Bob doesn't like alpha males (since he was bullied in school) so that every movie that caters to what he considers to be "manly macho jocks" he gets defensive.
Dude I think most of us here were bullied in school but that doesn't give us free reign to be ignorant and insult people out of hand just for liking something he doesn't. I'm a weedy nerd and yet I love to watch macho rubbish or dumb action films because I find them extreamly fun and entertaining not because they appeal to some kind of douchebag way of thinking. This kind of ignorance is especially galling for a reviewer who is meant to be impartial and to judge a film by it's merits and not by the things you associate it with.

Bob you really need to let go of that baggage, it's hard believe me I know but you'll feel so much better without it.

I saw the first one for the first time a couple of months ago.

It just seemed like a crappy Point Break ripoff but with cars instead of surfing and even less fleshed out actors. And considering that Keanu Reeves was doing his level best to impersonate his surfboard in that movie...

Basically I watched the first one because I had to stay up all night for totally legitimate reasons, it was available, and not only had I heard some good things about it, but it had Michelle Rodriguez in it and I had heard it was one of the only movies she ever made where she didn't die. Which makes it on par with finding a Bruce Willis movie where he doesn't play a grizzled badass with perma-stubble who is supposed to be an everyman but takes enough punishment to put down a SWAT team.

Man I'm getting a lot of little grievances out today, must be that Wedding thing that happened earlier.
