The word of mouth that movie is horrible is spreading very fast so either people will:

A Go see the movie to see how terrible it is

or

B Just plain ignore it

Transformers did get a sequel but it wasnt as widely anticipated as the Green Lantern movie. Finally WB/DC could show they can make superhero movies other then batman. And as moviebob said they failed miserably at it.

It's okay, your theme music is awful anyway :p

And this matches pretty much what I've heard from everywhere else, maybe with a little more passion behind it. Not that it matters, it's not opening in Sweden anyway (at least not anytime soon).

Bioshock looks good. Haven't played it myself. My friend who is very hard to scare said this is scary. Sounds like my type of game.
Combat looks great.

I kind of liked Daredevil, actually. Although it did have its weird moments.

I strangely liked the second Fantastic Four movie. They were out to have fun with it and it shows in the acting. Silver Surfer was done better than I had expected as well.

As for GL, I was iffy on it already, probably won't get my friends along for it. Guess I'll see it down the line somewhere and maybe be warmly surprised but I'll skip it for now.

Isn't it sod's law?
I thought Sod's law was where if it can go wrong it will and Murphy's Law is "if something good happens something just as bad will happen

correct me if I'm wrong
Murphy's law is "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". I believe it wasn't this originally but when someone brings it up these days you have a 99% chance this is what's meant. The meaning basically changed somewhere along the line.

Yeah, it has to be said that I was always very Sceptical that Ryan Reynolds would work in this Role.

I had to look this up, as I was quite sure "Sod's Law" was "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong". According to wikipedia, which is of course always right :p:

Sod's law is a name for the axiom "Anything that can go wrong, will".[1] "Toast will always land butter side down" is often given as an example of Sod's law in action. The phrase is seemingly derived, at least in part, from the colloquialism an "unlucky sod"; a term used to describe someone who has had some bad unlucky experience, and is usually used as a sympathetic reference to the person.

The term is still commonly used in Britain, though in North America the newer eponymous "Murphy's law" has become more popular

The floating head thing, ya it sucks...the score, definitely sucks, but damn Bob I actually enjoyed myself here. I liked the effects for the lanterns, I think it worked. They seemed to have tried to smash too much into the movie and lost a lot of development, but I guess cause I love Green Lantern and already knew the characters I didn't need constant explanation of everything and everyone.

I had a good time, I usually agree with Bob's reviews, not this one. I wasn't mad at all, it was satisfying.

Now there's the sound of betrayal...

I was getting so stoked for this, but I think I'll delay my viewing of it a bit.
I still want to see it, but I was never going to bother with the 3D.

I think I'll read Blackest Night soon after seeing it,though. I'll probably need it to cheer me up :p

Bob, I normally agree whole heartedly with your reviews, but not this one. Perhaps it was your comparisons to Batman and Robin lowering my expectations but I really enjoyed this movie. I think the cast were fantastic, the design was amazing and the story was very good. Only real problem was not enough of the characters like the guardians, Kilawog, etc and too much time spent on earth. But that's nothing a good sequel can't improve upon. As an origin story, it worked. As for the humour, I though you said you were "done with dark"?!! I think the suit would have been a whole lot more ugly and generic if they used a spandex one. By the way, for those who have yet to see the movie, be sure sure to stay past the first part of the credits, it has quite an interesting scene that may rectify a big problem some fans, who left the cinemas in a huff as soon as it was over, had with the movie.

The way Bob said "See you next time" the same way as in any other review made me laugh... which is either fun or worrying, so much criticism! :D

(Though of course he did set that up with the spiralling depressionness)

That was disappointing to say the least. I was pretty sure this movie could have introduced me to the Green Lantern setting. I'll atleast rent it once it comes out on DVD.

I think it's interesting to see how the production of movies come about, but sadly even glimpses of the errors are rarely seen. I suppose the companies in question aren't very fond with showing the whole picture in order to let the public base their opinions on facts rather than speculation.

Come to think of it, shouldn't such witholding of information be made illegal? Sure, it might be a trivial matter. But damnit, I want all information there is not including anyone's private life available!
