I hate to defend a Twilight movie, I really, really do. But the criticism of Twilight that was apparently so necessary to shoehorn in doesn't make any sense. Vampires have, for a LONG time, been portrayed as creatures in a rapidly changing world, with serious problems adapting. They're undead, static creatures whose cultural understanding also remains, thematically, static. Even humans end up feeling pretty strongly about sticking to there own cultural mores (Ask the average 60 year old how much they love computers), and they are much younger, less set in there ways, less powerful (and able to defend and feel superior enough that how they view there viewpoint is the best), and in fiction with non-humans, are traditionally the most adaptive creatures in the universe. Even they reminisce about how much better things were when they were young, and have problems shrugging off old habits. Add onto this the fact that conservative, no sex until after marriage views aren't exactly gone. A lot of people still feel this way, and one of those people is the author, who we have established is writing Twilight as a Morman pro-chastity tale. Yes, Twilight is terrible, but this plot point may be the only part of Twilight that makes completely logical, thematically appropriate, and cogently communicated sense. Sorry Moviebob, Predators was pretty great, but your criticism is nonsense.
