Firstly: Hey...Dreamworks made Road to El Dorado, and I liked that movie.
Secondly: Just a quick bit of showbiz advice Bob, you should probably stop putting your opinion of the movie in question in the text description. Took a lot of fun out of the Iron Man review when I knew going in that you liked it.
So you must HATE Yahtzee then.
Why? I still like Moviebob even though he does it so why would I hate Yahtzee? It's not an extreme problem, just a bit of personal advice. And Yahtzee doesn't put his opinions in the blurb.

I stopped at Shrek 2. Dreamworks has made some good film, still they used the same DW Face over and over until it got boring.

The mid life crisis was okay for Mr Incredible, is the holy empire of pixar the only one allowed to do that?
But this feels infinitely more cynical... One could argue that Mr. Incredible going through a midlife crisis allowed for good characterization. Yet Shrek 4 or whatever simply has it so they have a plot to make a movie out of.

I just never understood why Shrek was Scottish. I know Myers loves doing that voice but... Oh wait, I just game myself the answer didn't I?

HAHAHA that's all Ben does is put his opinions in his reviews.

The only reason this movie was made was because they wanted to have thier own 3D movie. 3D movies are popular now and they just needed a franchise to make one from. I guess they thought making it 3D would be enough to sell it.

I liked the movie tho. It was much better the the previous 2 sequals and just about as good as the first movie. It works alot better if you pretend the 2nd and 3rd movie didn't exist and just assume it's Shrek 2. The villian was my favorite part for me.

How to train your dragon was really good in my opinion. The premise was great and the setting was really cool. The cartoony proportions of the characters was great too.

I've never seen the original "It's a Wonderful Life". It's been so played out and homaged that I pretty much know the complete story by now and I don't really see the point of looking for it anymore. Sorry, Bob.

The first phrase of the video is also mine.

Apparently the last 2 reviews were of lame movies. Better luck in the next Bob.

Hey Bob did you buy a new mike? For the last couple of videos, the audio sounds more clear than in previous ones.

For what it's worth, going by the "homages" it's likely more the case that you know the complete 3rd act - perhaps more-accurately called the "second half."

Honestly, it's an INCREDIBLY strange film, right down to it's oddball sense of structure: You basically get a "whimsically depressing" three act story of a life (think Virginia Wolf or maybe Sylvia Plath as-illustrated by Norman Rockwell) that builds to just about the darkest possible ending... only to transition into a second, magic-realism "mini movie" set in a kind of alternate-universe journey-through-hell. Viewed objectively, it's really quite remarkable that such a weird work has become such a "staple" classic.

I LOVED Shrek 1 and 2. Especially 2 where they explored and fleshed the movie's universe and revealed that Fiona's imprisonment was actually a plot by the fairy godmother to rule the kingdom. They never directly said it, but how else did she get cursed?

The only disappointing thing I found about Shrek 2 was that immediately after it came out, The Incredibles came out and kicked its ass as the best movie I've ever seen. I mean that quite honestly, because I think that if there is a better movie out there (there probably is), it's not a movie the whole family can watch.

Shrek 3 was so... meh, that I'm shocked that they've made a 4th.

The first two were great, but they should've stopped there. This is just yet another case of wringing a franchise to squeeze out the last few drops of currency.

It's a shame this franchise got milked so hard, honestly, It's a shame that it's come to this, still, we can always have the cold comfort that the first two were fun and enjoyable.

there is no logics behind financial purposes, and therefore no reason is ever used in creating such sequels.

I find it interesting that Movie Bob spends more time complaining about the fact they made another Shrek than actually *reviewing it*. I wonder if he even watched the movie as the items he pointed out were all in the trailer or discussed before it came out.

If I was not coming to Escapist for Zero Punctuation I would probably never bother to stop and watch Bob's reviews as all of the ones I have seen recently seem to spend more time commenting on why a movie was made more than actually discussing the *actual* movie. For the record I liked this movie as much as the first. Clearly, if you *did* see it, you went into it having pre-decided you hated it.

Seriously, Bob.. you though "How to train your dragon" was "ok". That statement alone tells me that you and I should *never* go to the movies together because I thought it was awesome and actually went back to see it two more times with different friends and laughed just as hard each time.

Thank you for taking the time to record your rant about how Dreamworks has sold out, maybe you should have reviewed MacGruber instead and talked about how over used SNL characters are, at least *that* would been worthy of the craptastic review.
