Wow Bob, that joke at the end was epic, I couldn't stop laughing for 15 minutes.
That said, I got the impression that this movie got made because the movie version of "Red Riding Hood" as a feminized werewolf movie was apparently a success, if not at the box office and critically, apparently though it's video releases. Leading people to believe that mid-budget feminized fairy tale movies could be a reliable way to make money. Snow White being one of the classic metaphorical stories, and not as heavily used as say "Cinderella".
As far as Kristen Stewart goes, I've heard it said that she's a sort of projective chameleon (as much as that makes sense). Her lack of range and acting abillity is sort of the point, her big gimmick is that she's not ugly, but not fabulously beautiful either, and is easy to present in a way that the female audience can believe she is wildly beautiful but not actually being there and closer to what most of them are IRL they can associate with her as part of the fantasy. We're watching this stuff as a movie, and evaluating the movie on it's own merits as far as acting and presentation, not so much on levels of how much of an opening an actress leaves for one to project oneself into the movie if that's your kind of thing.
She's sort of like one of those little kids in old cartoons that were supposed to be audience surrogates, except in her case it apparently works, I'd expect to see a lot more of her in the coming years as this type of movie becomes increasingly popular.
I have no reason to doubt that, and I can kind of see it... so that might very well be why she keeps getting all these roles.
