lol great vid, can't wait.

But "Chubby Man Fall Down Go Boom" is funny. Hell, I laugh harder than anyone around me when I fall.

EDIT (June 23): Just saw this movie. It's amazing! Why did it bomb so badly at the box-office?

Glad you liked it, Bob. I've been waiting for this for a while now.

One thing that pissed me off though is seeing all the bullshit people have been writing/saying like "This will either be the biggest guilty pleasure of the year or be the biggest piece of shit of the the year"

How exactly? This movie looks fantastic from the trailer.

Sure, it kinda looked a bit like the movie Species, but that movie was fucking horrible! You can't really say a good movie looks like shit just because it kinda is reminiscent of a bad 90s movie.

Do not put commercials I can't skip into my escapist clips or I will stop watching them. You have been warned.

Thanks for the headsup on Splice though. I would've totally skipped a generic sounding movie like that if left to my own devices.

I have to say I wasn't going to go see this one thinking it would be a failed attempt at what you say it succeeds on.

Problem is I don't like going to movies on my own and everyone I know who I would want to go with me shows no interest in it =(

Since when was putting actual science in Sci-Fi a good thing?

It almost always dates the whole project.

I think the fact that Michael Bay is directing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie is scarier than Splice

I saw commercials for it on the tele-tube, but at the time I thought it was just another generic sci-fi monster movie. Good to know there's a good horror film I can see in theaters this summer.

Also, I'm actually looking forward to "Get Him to the Greek" solely for Russell Brand in his returning role as Aldous Snow. The only thing I'm worried about is that they're gonna try to use Jonah Hill to get people into theaters by giving him more gags and screen time than the much funnier and more talented Russell Brand.

That's entirely your decision, but you do realize that ad revenue is how the Escapist makes a lot of its money, right? 15-30 seconds isn't that much to ask, and you don't even have to actually watch/listen to it, just mute it or do something else in that time frame.

I'm not sure if this'll be as big as District 9, though I'm sure time will tell.

Why do I always pick up on minor characters in trailers or movies?
When I watched Star Trek I noticed that they had the guy who played Dr. Beckett in Stargate Atlantis as a one-line role. Or Tony Shalhoub from the TV-series Monk who had a minor role in the movie "Welcome to Gattaca".
And now, I watch this review and see that RODNEY F*****G MCKAY from Stargate Atlantis in "Splice"...... am I weird or what?

I was surprised. I thought, from what I'd seen in the previews, that this was just going to be another schlocky retread of old sci-fi monster tropes.

But...

"Intelligent"?
"Science in Science Fiction"?
"This year's District 9"?

If I weren't saving my pennies for train tickets next weekend, I'd be going to see Splice.
