And I'm with you on that one Chess, considering that Bob just pretty much spelled out the whole movie for us; 4 whores (and im using that term literally) rob a store, go to florida, get caught up in hookering and drugs, all while not changing his tone. But truth be told this movie looks like gabaj (garbage but it sounds funny when you say it out loud) especially with the fact that its filled with dubstep. It honestly reminds me of that one chick from "Forest Gump" who spent the majority of the movie bein a slut and smokin crack, only where that had a reason for being and was tragic as hell, this is just "oh hey lets write these chicks as whores cause people like that". If people really feel the need to see this kind of movie, watch "Almost Famous" and have dubstep blasting on a pair of headphones.
Yes, much like Into the Wild is about a white guy getting lost in the woods, The Great Gatsby is about some rich dude and his party, and Bioshock is about the some guy going underwater to kill the remaining populace of the city of Rapture.
Making generalized, summarized, broad-sweeping comments that completely dodge even the WANT of any statements that aren't being made at the surface level doesn't paint you any better in terms of creating/presenting compelling opinions.
OT:
I may see this. Movies like this generally get me into a bit of a down state of mind, and it's not something that's needed in my life at the moment. I'll likely wait until it comes in other forms of media distribution.

Yeah... sorry Bob, I like you and everything, but ever since your review of Suckerpunch, I have to take these kinds of reviews with a grain of salt, and especially when it comes to female exploitation on film.
Gonna give it a miss. I am not a fan of the "we coach a deeper message into something the audience wants to see" thing, because at the end of the day, if you wanted to see whatever "it" is, you're going to ignore the message and stay with that. And if you were there for the deeper message, you're going to have to slog through the "it" in order to get there. That type of movie is trying to have it both ways, obviously, trying to reel in the shallow masses AND the intellectuals, so it obviously doesn't care about the deeper message enough to get rid of the shallow cocoon it is presented in. So if the movie itself doesn't care that much about the deeper message, why should I?
Because the whole point of existential discussion as related to the generation this movie is presenting lies often within the excessive use of self-indulgence to fill an otherwise gaping void that is within the center of the human condition. The whole point of some movies is that characters are hilariously oblivious to what the story they are in is trying to say. That hardly makes a story's ability to tell itself bad, it actually may play up the experience.
Or because if they made this movie about intelligent people with funny hats discussing the benefits and down-sides of our generation's moral set/existential relations, it wouldn't sell and would likely oddly misrepresented. Much like Bob talking about this movie seems a bit disingenuous to his audience.
Honestly, I think this review just paints a bit of a divide at some points between this website's populace and their collective opinion of certain atmospheres used in movies(or other forms of media, I suppose), and someone like Bob, who might be looking for value that people here would like have no problem discarding. I don't really think it's the fault of either party, but it's a bit disappointing.
