Took me 30 secs to realise it was an Aprils Fool. On top of that, the originak Super Mario Bros movie was bad enough to make me puke. Now a remake?!

He had me until the Jersey shore reference. Still very entertaining, watching Movie Bob gush over what is probably his personal description of the worst movie ever.

At 1st I was all yay..... than I watched it and was like..... boo this is gona be awful. Very few movies can pull off spontaneous dance numbers and the cast.... if I could call it that is c list at best. About half way thought though awwhaha, ya got me April fools. I'll be on look out next year not to be tricked. No pranks around here so I was off guard.
Sides the original movie is freaking awesome. Nothing like a cult classic.

Aww, Bob. I was so impressed with what a straight face you kept up until the end there! I was hoping you'd never admit it was an April Fools in spite of how ludicrously clear it was. It was almost an invert of the standard April Fools routine. :)

That said, I did groan and laugh at the Smash Initiative.

I understood that it was a joke the moment he said with a straight face that the abomination from Jersey Shore plays Mario.

I've seen the workprint that got leaked on the internet a month ago and I gotta say I wasn't impressed.
Sure, the first time watching blew me away but on repeated viewing little plotholes and character inconsistencies started popping up everywhere.
The action wasn't as good as everyone makes it out to be either. Just some more Zack Snyder style slow-down-speed-up chopfests with a camera that can't even be bothered to stay on the violence inflicted half the time because it's too busy showing off Luigi posing.

It sure is getting hard to detect april fools jokes; 99% of the movies released last year sounded like april fools jokes...and at least half the video games too.
