I agree, Skyline was the worst piece of shit I have ever seen. It was even worse than The Room, at least The Room was so bad it was funny, whereas Skyline was so bad it was PAINFUL
Are you kidding me? The Room was a bloody masterpiece I have never laughed so hard in my life. The best comedy movie ever.

I am very surprised you thought it was a bad year for film, I look at 2009 and I can't think of one movie save for a single man a particularly remember. I'm a big fan of Scott Pilgrim and a strong believer that the twist in Shutter Island isn't designed to be a twist, I love inception despite its flaws and I REALLLY want to see Black Swan. Yeah a few bad films, but overall I will be keeping a lot of this years stuff in my DVD collection... Hmm, maybe its because I avoided the bad films, but you as a critic must see them

What was that "Why?" thing at the end? I didn't catch that. Oh yeah, and that Mel Gibson pic is for an upcoming film that I will not speak of, only provide you with the link to its IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1321860/

Come on, Bob, "why" is not that hard of a question at all: eight... HUNDRED... million. That's "why".

Good news, though, Inception is lagging less than $20m behind. Still time to surpass ghetto robots and leg-humping robots and nononononoNONONONONOnonononono before it goes out of theaters.

And not to suggest a comparison between a career schlock director and an iconic B-movie director, but the reason Roger Corman has been allowed to direct dozens of movies and produce ALMOST FOUR HUNDRED movies is that nearly all of his movies have turned a profit. If you make more than you spend, you're going to continue to get the keys to the studio door. By contrast, Serenity may be the single most sublime work of science fiction known to man, but it didn't even break even until it went to DVD, so five years hence, no Serenity 2.

Wait, a pool cleaning robot beat Wallace Wells? HOW?!? Wallace was awesome in the comic books, even though he didn't appear a lot, but the movie just took him to a whole new level of awesome, easily one of the best movie characters of 2010(one of the most well done gay characters anyway). How does a pool cleaning robot beat that?

What the hell is the appeal to that "Ninja's... Damn" line? Its not that clever, its not really funny, I mean seriously? What about all the stuff Woody Harrelson said in Zombieland? Any one of his phrases were better than that.

You fail Bob, 2010 was a realy good movie year.

Inception, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Kick-Ass, True Grit, The Fighter, Black Swan, The Social Network, Shutter Island, Machete. Not to mention all the other good movies, maybe not as awesome as these, but still very good movies that helped make 2010 a pretty damn good movie year.

Oh god, I saw a preview for that Mel Gibson movie The Beaver when I went to go see The King's Speech last night. People in the audience weren't even laughing at how completely ridiculous it looked, we all just sat there in a terrified silence.

Nominee for dumbest-named movie of 2011: The Adjustment Bureau.

You say "why?" To Transformers 3, What did you expect? it was concluded almost damn near after the second one hit the big screen. I'm not a big fan of Transformers but I'm a big fan of action films, and that's practically where Micheal bay gets most of his credit so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Everyone else, well something new to rant about.

Moviebob, I just saw Moon, and all I can think about now with your faces is Gerty. I'm sure that's where the idea came from but now it's just one of those things I can't look away from.

Also if there are any more dry weeks, why don't you pull a Yahtzee and review classics, your favorites, or just overlooked films that you didn't have time to do in your normal year?

Bleh, stopped watching his reviews after the Inception one. Watched this. Shouldn't have...
Sorry. Just read the new forum rules and in the spirit of not just negativity for the sake of it; any chance of a proper review Bob? I get the whole trying to be like Yahtzee thing and the whole you never got laid in high school thing, but constantly complaining that a film doesn't live up to the toys you played with when you should have been out getting laid only appeals to other people who never got laid. What about the rest of us?
In the spirit of negativity for the sake of it, get that sand out of your vagina. Saying "you rip off Yahtzee and never got laid in high school" is nothing but pointless criticism drivel.

Moviebob has been around and doing this for (as far as I know, maybe longer) a good two years longer than Yahtzee has, anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure that Bob mentioned that he indeed thinks Sarah Palin is hot in the first few episodes of the Game Overthinker. I'm not saying he is a hypocrite, it's just strange he would criticize the show for being watched.
Disclaimer: I am in no way saying people should watch that show, just pointing out something I noticed.

Neither "Splice" nor "SPvsWorld" was underrated, if anything, both movies are way overrated..
Im shocked that anyone is actually surprised by the second's box office failure.. guess hipster numbers or ppl who like, care, or even heard about them is vastly overestimated by those.

Congrats Movie Bob you surprised me by just showing a glimpse of Scott Pilgrim and not going off on a tirade about how great and socially insightful it was despite being destroyed by the Expendables.

Splice sucked, Machete sucked, Mel Gibson is an under-appreciated actor who's got more going for him than a whiny "critic" (term used loosely here) like Bob would ever have the backbone to admit.

Also, in a year where releases included Inception, Toy Story 3, Black Swan, King's Speech, True Grit, Social Network and a plethora of others, Bob goes on to focus on some crappy ninja movie that never even made it theaters in most parts of the world?
I'm glad your haterade wore off by that second paragraph (don't tell anyone, but I kinda agree with you).

Frickin' INCEPTION, Bob; INCEPTION.

Speaking of a year for bad movies... Did you guys know "The Critic" predicted the Expendables would be mind numbing crap in the mid 90's?

I'm shocked they picked Edwards to make the next Godzilla. A lot of bigger directors wanted to do one (even Tarantino is said to have had an idea for one), so why not put it in the best possible hands (well, besides it costing less to hire someone cheap)?
lol, could you imagine a Tarantino godzilla movie?
