I now seek to slightly change the topic.

What was your favorite Lego set as a kid/adult?
Definitely this one -

Say what you want about the prequels, but these things have to be the best part of it.

Favourite as a kid because "omg huge spaceship pewpewzoooom!". Favourite as an adult because of nostalgia and because I can appreciate the intricacies of the wing design (you can unlock them so they swing down and open up the housing for that telescope/laser cannon
Aww, now I'm jealous.
My best friend got that set for his birthday one year... I was envious then too. The wing pinions were like the coolest thing evar, back then. Went home after the party and tried to build it myself. Don't remember how well it turned out, but I know it didn't last very long. Ended up building my own version of the Star Hawk [http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/1789-1.jpg] instead.

As someone for whom lego was a defining bit of their childhood I've been crossing my fingers for months that this movie would be good. Can't tell you how relieved I am that it is.

Why did he show Vision at the end of the clip?
Probably because of this:

heh, I almost immediately found the answer following my post, very cool...

I've been looking forward to this film for a while, and now I see MovieBob jumping on the love train about this film. Did he even say anything bad about it other than "it nearly 'negative thing'"?

What his problem with the Nolan Batman movies?
Same problem with anything that is not Marvel Studios, not enough silver age, since it's apparently the only valid interpretation for super-heroes that bob can accept as actually good.

Ahem...

That lego movie looks awesome. I'm really glad they made Batman a "major" character instead of just a cameo, reminds me of how excited I was for Wreck it ralph videogame characters showing up (Sonic was in one of the posters for god's sake!), only to see it was only really short cameos for the most parts.

Bob...I can one up you on the question about workout tape.

When the phrack did Amy become a ninja?!? In one scene from the gameplay footage, when all four fall down a hole (Forget how to fly, Tails?) she's the only one to do a flip and land on her feet! Here's hoping she also got rid of the fangirl persona...

CAPTCHA: same same

See? The Captcha wants that @!#?@! fangirlism to stop too!

Nope, you gotta keep the stalker-level Sonic fangirl mentality there, because that's always been her origin story. And if you look at Amy Rose's backstory, there's all sorts of things that put her at creep-factor 9, but Archie (and to a lesser extent Sega) kept it all because they somehow care about Sonic's canon way more than they should have to... and in a way it's kinda awesome.

Remember, this Amy in the comics found a way to age progress herself to better lure in Sonic. So while she looks 17 her brain is 12.

Yeah... that happened.

I can't really say I had a favourite Lego set. I mean getting a new set was a blast and they were fun to build, but after a month they got assimilated into the collective box where I had even more fun building my own stuff. So I guess in terms of the movie I'm on Lego Batman's side here!

Ahh, no one makes a glowing review that rings up a film to sound like ecstasy quite like Bob Chipman.

As for the Sonic redesigns...
While Knuckles' overdose on the steroids was a biiit much, I have to say that this new look for the characters is a good direction for the series to go.

But it's just blatantly cashing in on what kids think is cool right now, you might say, to which I respond,

Uh, YEAH. It's Sonic. That's kind of what he was from the beginning.

Sonic's personality, his cast and the world all got a major overhaul around the turn of the millennium with the Sonic Adventure games; with lots of modern anime influences like multi-faceted stories, anthropomorphic animals next to realistic human cities, teenagers and 8-year-olds being part of a Government agency and saving the world, and evolving character arcs that take place over the course of several installments.
This, naturally, was perfect timing for a Western audience that had just gotten into anime more than ever thanks to Pokemon and the like.

Everything about Sonic's personality in the original games could have been scored by Young MC.

Everything about Shadow's personality could have been scored by Nickelback.

So it's only natural that the next upcoming Sonic games and series will reflect and invoke Minecraft, Adventure Time and dubstep.

I liked the Lego Batman movie...
This seems sort of similar, but bigger budget, longer movie, and more thought behind it.
Will watch!

Ah yeah I remember buying this thing with my own money back when I was like 9 ($50 was a lot of money to me back then) such an intricate set with a lot of features, and it has Boba Fett which is a huge plus.

The Lego Batman movie was really just Lego splicing together the cut scenes from Tt games Lego Batman 2 game. This was purpose made as a movie. Even more so than their Ninjago or Star Wars TV shows.
