Escapist adverts are out of control...

I remember a few days ago Escapist had talking audio adverts... AND YOU COULDN'T STOP THEM!

They're gone now but... I fear they will one day return *shudder*

I don't think so, after all remember the Meebo fiasco? I don't think the Escapist will go much further than silent banner ads and pre-video ads

I just noticed that two users in a row used the exact phrasing "the Meebo fiasco." That right there should tell those of you who weren't around for it how bad it was, and how important of a lesson it was for the people in charge of the site.

I remember there being a Meebo bar or something at the bottom of the browser window some time ago. That was before I registered. What else was there to it?
