Once again I'd like to delve into a community art project with your help. The previous project can be found here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.91214#1427152

The project will consist of members submitting a small snippet of speech, then I'll work my magic and turn it into a kind audio collage. The finished product will be uploaded to youtube.

What I need from you:
Any suggestions on the style of music, keeping in mind that I play keyboard and make electronic music.

A sample of the following: The name of your favorite game and the year it was published.
For example: "Mario Kart, 1992"
Please use a normal (conversational voice). If you don't know when your favorite game was released (for shame!) you can use wikipedia. [http://wikipedia.org/]

How to record:
1). Make sure your mic works.
2). Click on your start menu go to the accessories tree and select "Sound Recorder," open it.
3). Move the mic between 6 and 8 inches away from your mouth, I can make things louder, but it's a lot of work to fix things that are already too loud.
4). Click the record button and speak into the microphone.
5). Save your file. Name the file your name on the forums (ie. wilsonscrazybed.wav)
6). Upload the .wav to any of the free upload sites, I suggest any of the sites listed here. [http://goodblimey.com/archives/2006/09/02/huge-list-of-upload-services/]
7). Link your file in the thread, listen to other people's voices and discuss ideas for the kind of song you would like to hear.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me, or ask them in this thread.

Sorry to use Rapid Share but it was the only one I could find without a ton of ads getting in the way. Link. [http://rapidshare.com/files/225244372/Matthicus.wav.html] Best of luck with the final.

Oh, you could try doing something in an Aphex Twin style, mixed with Sigur Ros and a little Meshuggah thrown in on top.

Here [http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ASW2V5NB] is mine, hope it comes out alright.

I think you should do a dance/electro-punk tune, personally.

What program do you use to create music like this by the way? I do a lot of electronic tracks and experimentation in Reason 4, it's an amazing piece of software.

Come on people get recording. It's going to need more voices than this to work right, probably.

Thanks for the samples guys, I'll be putting something together next week, still plenty of time to submit your voice sample.
