So, it appears I'm a tad better than the average forum go'er about vising Escapist 2: It's just a flesh wound (kidding, though content remains way way down from the site's peak).
Most of the articles are Okay. MovieBob's doing the things that made me follow him to YouTube (now there's a cesspool if I've ever seen it), though I miss many of the running columns. Adam Adler's legal column and Riley Constantine's work shine through, though I suspect that's partially me being an attorney and transwoman, both backgrounds that are rare enough in journalism that each one tends to be unique in how they approach subjects.
Still, it's a long way to go from the heyday of the site, and I suspect that editorial control is going to need a lot of practice before it's refined properly. I think the Russ Pitts article that @IceForce published should have been kept up as there is a discussion to be had (ironically, one that would be poisoned because of the very people that he stated were unwelcome) as it is something that kind of needs to be discussed, both in terms of the industry's practices and that godawful moment which laid bare some of the deepest fears of those of us who love games, but find self-described "gamers" to be a toxic bunch (I lost my brother at least briefly to those assholes, and I still wonder if my preference for female avatars in CoDs Blackout keeps making me a target during the lobby session).
For now, I'm willing to stay, if only because I'm not willing to shell out a subscription to Forbes just for their AAA-focused gaming coverage (seriously though, there's a reason I have them in my Google News feed [https://www.forbes.com/games/#4498cc4f42ac]).
