I've posted cooking articles before and am still posting one on a small scale forum that i frequent. I've been considering expanding and posting my work on The Escapist as well since it seems to me that The Escapist has a surprisingly low troll to reasonable human being ratio. Would anyone object or are there people here interested in learning how to cook?

I would. I'm putting on horrible weight because I eat nothing but deep fried fries and crap that I can just throw in a deep fryer. Stuff aimed at beginners would be brilliant :D

I mean it's all well and good watching a proffesional on TV throw some recipes your way, but really, I don't have half that crap in my cupboard and even if I did it wouldn't end up half as good as theirs did.

I like the idea.

I would be interested in having a few recipies. Mainly I just cook with the oven; a few oven chips, a piece of battered fish/chicken/elderich abomination and some frozen veg. boiled in a saucepan. I have been meaning to learn more recipies, but I got a Jamie Oliver book and everything involves threading crushed asparagus into the obergenes and garnishing with a mixture of thyme and duck tears.

I'd say go for it, and it'd be good if you could include cooking tips as well.

Do it, I've been looking into cooking classes lately and would really love to learn. I'll need it too, I can't cook worth a damn and my metabolism has been slowing recently. Without being able to fend for myself, I'll die from fast-food intake.

Um...

Are you me? Because you sound like me.

As for OP... go for it. One day, when I get a kitchen, maybe I can use what you post.

I'd certainly be behind the idea. I can put forward a fair few vegetarian recipes, but my measurement system largely goes by eye rather than metric or imperial.

In any case, I dare say a fair few people on these forums could do with at least basic cooking skills.

A cooking article (or even, dare I say, video) would be a great addition to the website I think. There's so many great, geeky, things that can and have been done with food, it would be nice to see what you've got to offer. BRING IT

I would love that. I love cooking and learning new recipes. Had to learn, or I would starve. My wife doesn't cook...BUT she does make me sandwiches!!!!

I'm always open to learning to cook new food, I'm pretty tired of the old standbys.

I suppose I wouldn't object, per se, though it seems out of place on a gaming website. I am, however, totally uninterested in cooking anything, ever, no matter how simple the recipe or delicious the result. And I guess I would be annoyed if the Latest Threads were all cake discussions.

Well I'm up for new things but I doubt this is for me as I'm well within my comfort zone making relatively extravagent meals so I'd be worried it'd be kind of beginner what with the nerd stereotype of cheetos and mountain dew (which aren't present in the UK really). But if it's well written and interesting I'll always be willing to take a look.

The only things I can really cook are the things I made in my High School cooking class. I say go for it.
