Yeah, it can happen and as mentioned, it has happened.

I knew of a few that have happened on here but I'm not going to name names, as that would earn me a lot of anger. And I quite like those friends to remain friends.

There are quite a lot of Escapists dating. From what I've been able to see though, sadly, whenever it's a online based relationship., it doesn't tend to work out. It seems much more likely that a bond of this nature that originates on the forums would be more successful if it operated less offline and more in real life. <3

I agree, long-distance relationships are one thing, but this is taking it a bit to far.I mean, this is a good way to keep in touch, but if you try to start a relationship on here rather than in real life,its more than likely not going to work out.

I want to believe though that sometimes it can work out. Distance is a big issue though, and as much as people say it doesn't effect them, eventually it will ion my opinion. :3

I'd like to believe it works out too, and sometimes it does if the love is real. But for everyone else, the people i know who tried a long distance relationship, once it got started, all the passion flew right out the window.

I'm not sure that's true. Without actually knowing the person behind the alias or clicking their name and sifting through their details to find their gender I don't think there's any favouritism in posting.
Online dating gives me the shivers to be honest, I think you need to be able to see and touch and physically talk to somebody before embarking on such a personal experience together (assuming we're taking about, you know, boyfriends and girlfriends that do more than just squeal in each others presence and are there to support each other). I've never heard of a case where the Escapist has brought two people together, anyway.
