I also dislike when people just say this or that is overrated even if it may be good ,there just trolling.Well i should've phrased that better.I couldn't care less for the halo series played 1, 2. and 3 all the way through ,liked the first one t,the second ones online was good and there was no point for a 3rd one, as it was the exact same as the other ones. And reach isn't my type of game. What i should have said was ,I hate when people say its the best game ever(and yes a lot do its there favorite game and its usually people who haven't got a chance to play a lot of games.I know people personally who do this and online you will find plenty of praise. And about generalizing there is no way not to generalize when talking opinion and statistics on a internet forum.I hate when people compare it to other games when its not a good game to compare with.ultrachicken said:That is a massive generalization to make with purely anecdotal evidence. Secondly, you just said that you dislike halo solely because other people like it. That's a very illegitimate reason.hecticpicnic said:I like Cod4 i just think think they should just stop making games because they over shadow others much better than them. And they have kinda become a monopoly on the fps market.
EDIT:Oh and i dislike halo because ever one that likes it ,thinks its the best game ever..they really do my brother is one.
OT: People want to stand out from the crowd, so they choose to rag on popular games. Sometimes there is genuine dislike, but most of it is nullified by the mute button, which no-one seems to have discovered.
Hate the games? No. I hate the assholes that make me not want to play them. I actually enjoy the campaigns from CoD and Halo.Geo Da Sponge said:Since when was making the game approachable to new players a bad thing? Especially when you are implying that it is the inexperienced players themselves who ruin the game.Skorpyo said:Well, considering that most of the people playing CS:S anymore are hardened "pro's", it's really not surprising that you get that feeling. Same goes for Killing Floor; griefers and idiots can't stand to play it because of the sheer difficulty level, so they are usually non-existent.
CoD and Halo, on the other hand, seem to cater to new-comers. Therefore, n00bs abound, and MP is ruined.
So what you're saying is this: you don't like the games because they're popular.
Oh, my bad. Forget I said anything.Skorpyo said:Hate the games? As perfect as the marraige between image and dialogue is. I'm pissed off that I now have to know that this guy exists.SODAssault said:
"Oh hey, welcome to the Escapist, what's your favor- oh. Halo? Really? My favorite game isn't even out yet. You've probably never heard of it, it's called Minecraft and it's indie as f... what do you mean you've heard of it? Whatever, you wouldn't get it because it doesn't have amazing graphics or space marines."
