Escapist, How Would You Spend £15k/$25k?

As you probably will not know, I'm getting married next summer to my girlfriend of 2 and a half years.

We recently calculated how much money had been saved, how much we'd spent on deposits and how much we have left to save.
We wont be having a religious ceremony as she isn't particularly religious and I'm a deist.
The grand total will be £15,000 which i think is roughly $25,000 USD. I think for the sake of one day that is crazy; we live together, I have her name tattoo'd on my arm, there is no religious significance for us, we're planning on saving for a mortgage together, but this is what she wants.
We've discussed its only a formality to me as i want to spend my life with her wedding or no, and we've come to the comprimise to have this day. Therefore I cant moan about the cost anymore, doesnt mean i cant have a rant on here though ;)

So my question to you Escapist is, what would you do with that cash?
For me its a mortgage deposit (boring I know)

EDIT, just went to AM EX currancy convertor on my phone. £15000 would get you $23130.4434
sorry for any offence caused by being over $1000 off

Please don't do that... just... don't... [sub](that's a general statement)[/sub]

OT: Yeah, I'd probably save it for boring things. Apartments or houses or a car or whatever. Or food, I hear people need that.

A wise man once told me to spend the money on your marriage not your wedding.

Unfortunately very few women will feel the same way.

Lots and lots of hookers and booze.

And probably a few body guards so those scum of the courts can't touch this.

I think you would be better off not spending it on your wedding, but on your honeymoon.

At least, that is what that creepy old man at the 7-11 told me.

I would...!

Put it in the bank. Insured up to $100,000.

Boring, I know. Never claimed to be an exciting person. But I am a very practical person. To the bank!

$25k? Really? For a wedding? I... huh.

I'm planning on getting married under the maxim of "spend your money on the marriage, not the wedding," but that's just me. And with my luck, I'll end up with a guy who wants some elaborate shenanigans.

OT: I'd probably put most of it in the bank. Possibly splurge on a few books/video games/a better TV.

Im going with the boring choice too.

At the moment I can only look for a job on the island I live on which is rather small and doesn't have much work for a trained IT technician so im having to look for pretty much anything and then when I do get a job it'll likely be something crap I won't like and im just going to have to deal with it whilst I save a bit of money up so I can look for work elsewhere and not have to worry about commute and not having money for rent.

If I had £15k however, i'd expand my job search right away and be able to take the job I want and not have to worry about rent.

Pay off some bills. Whatever left over I'd spend about half on something I want, like maybe a PC upgrade, and then save the last half. Or better yet, rather than upgrade my PC, build my girlfriend one, as she's still running a shitty XP machine with a dual core CPU and 1 gig of ram (no video) and can barely run most of the steam indie games, if at all.

$400 to upgrade my pc
$1500 to repair my car
$1200 on Christmas gifts for my mom, step dad and sister
I want to say $300 on games(maybe less)
$300 for jewelry(pimpin)
$500 on clothes(i really need some nice ones)
$19000 to a savings account
$300 on workout supplements(not a lot, really)
$1000 to my checking account
And the last $500 to charity. Cause I don't know what else I could do.

I'd add it to my investments...another step closer to $500,000 and as such retirement. I don't need a lot of yearly money to be happy, but at this rate I'll be 70 years old before I hit that 500k goal.

£15,000 != $25,000 USD. That's a no no OP, lying even for the sake of nationalism is not allowed.

I would put 20,000 of that cash into savings, then dump the rest into checking. With the cash in checking, I would probably go hog-wild, spending it on whatever I please. Not being able to afford anything for a while can do that to a person...

Use it on your honeymoon! It'll be filled with blackjack! And hookers!

Seriously, I wouldn't consult the escapist forums for this, I'd rather take financial advice from an expert.
