Put it in a savings account. There aren't many things that I want or need at the moment. I'd probably do a little travelling, but I'd keep my outgoings under a grand and a half.

For me it would be-
1. Pay off studen loan
2. Use the remaining money (student loan would of taken most of it) on clothing or games etc.

In your case I highly suggest keeping it in the bank for safe keeping like paying the bills and etc.

I would pay off the few debts I have and put together a full-on team to make my game! (instead of doing it all alone, as I have been)

So my question to you Escapist is, what would you do with that cash?
For me its a mortgage deposit (boring I know)
Money well spent. Last time I disposed of that amount of cash it was into my own spot too, getting it totally renovated (the bathroom alone cost >£6k). Of all the things there are to spend money on in this world, your own property is probably the best one (material-wise anyway) as all you're really doing is investing that cash to bring you a greater return later on.

Also, try and leave a little left over for the honeymoon. Congrats, fella - all the best to you and your (future) missus.

I'd spend a few grand pimping out my computer and/or entertainment system (TV, game consoles, etc.) and other nerdy stuff (anime, toys/figures, etc.).
I'd probably also try and get myself back into college. I had to drop out because it was too expensive.
As for the rest? I'd split it between my parents and various charities.

How... does a wedding cost so much? o_O I'd hate to spend that much money for one day, that's me being stingy though. Good luck with it all though.
OT: Right now, I'd get all the Christmas presents in because I haven't yet and I'm getting near hysterical about it now. Give however much mum wanted to pay off any bills. Try get myself a new house and pay a couple of months rent in advance. Go on holiday because I haven't been on one for 6 years. Put rest in savings account.
Mainly sensible things. My sister managed to blow £13,000 in 6 months by buying stupid and pointless things ;_;

@EeveeElectro these aint exact figures
£500 on a car
£1000 brides dress
3 x £200 bridemaids dresses
£500 on suit hire for me, bestman and the 2 fathers
£1500 photographer
£750 on a singer
then the rest is flowers, cake, venue hire, registrar, favours, food and drink packages for 80 day time guests, buffet for 150 evening guests. and probably a few things I've forgotten

Most important things:

- College
- Driving license
- Housing
- Savings account

Secondary things I just want badly:
- A tailored suit
- A small holiday (I haven't been away for AGES)
- A new Xbox

And that's it.

Well, since my baby sister is getting married, probably donate £10k to her wedding fund and then update the PC and bank the rest.

Lets see, a new PC, a nice suit, acquisition of PS2 titles including but not limited to ZOE 2, NFSMW Black Ed., .Hack series, and so forth. A five thousand dollar clunker because I don't have a car, I'd pay off my moms debt, and if I have enough left over I would renovate part of the kitchen....but then again the bathroom needs it more and it would be cheaper....
I'll tell you what I'd do if it had a zero added after the five, one word, Lamborghini.
