Before we begin I would just like to say; I love you all and you?re all fantastic and righteous people. Now that I have that emotional out of the way, back to the topic at hand.

The music in my MP3 player is getting not as powerful as before it means I have been listening to all the songs I like too much hence I think it?s time to get some fresh energy back into it. I need some new songs to listen to, and who better to ask? I have spent all of my resources and now I need your divine knowledge, help and amazing advice to get new music.

Because of this site I was able to find my all time favourite band Hammerfall( I love them so much!) and me saying that they are my favourite band should tell you a lot for what I am looking for. I am looking for bands and music like that of Hammerfall or other songs and bands that are in the Power Metal genre. Yes Power Metal, it?s my favourite genre of music; high energy, powerful, fast and heavy and can understand all the lyrics, for a lot of cases anyway.

So yeah that should give you enough of a clue to what I am looking for. I would also like to thank you all ahead of time for the help and I am looking forward to some amazing suggestions from you all today. Also post a link if you can to save me a bit of trouble, it would be most helpful.

Dragonforce?

Sorry, I kinda grew out of the whole power metal thing. Try Blind Guardian though, one of my used to be favorites of that genre.
Great start I listen to a whole lot of Dragonforce already but the other band i will definitely give a look at. Wait.....how do you grow out of power metal?

manowar. game set and match,

there an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980 the group is known for its lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery) and mythological topics (particularly Norse mythology) along with their "loud and bombastic" sound. In an interview for MTV in February 2007, bassist Joey DeMaio lamented that "these days, there's a real lack of big, epic metal that is drenched with crushing guitars and choirs and orchestras... so it's nice to be one of the few bands that's actually doing that." In 1984 the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on 2 occasions. They also hold the world record for the longest heavy metal concert after playing for 5 hours and 1 minute in Bulgaria in 2008. but you probbly alrdy know this but if not i recomend the songs "Call to Arms" "Warriors of the World United""Hand of Doom""Swords in the Wind""Fight Until We Die" "Sleipnir" "Loki God of Fire""The Sons of Odin" and most defintly "the gods made hevy metal"

your very welcome! my other friends got me into manowar back in the day when we used it as background music for our D&D games i investageted them a little a loved what i herd (always been a fan of norse myth)so i checked them out and was hooked. another song i forgot was "die for metal"
if your still looking i can also recomend Sabaton, there a power metal band from Falun, Sweden formed in 1999. The band's main lyrical themes are those of historical wars. This is heard in albums Primo Victoria and Attero Dominatus where all of the songs, except final tracks, take inspiration from historical battles or war. Lyrical content drawn from World War II and World War I is prevalent and includes songs about battles and leaders on all sides of the conflict.
i personlly recomend "Uprising" - About the Warsaw Uprising. 'White Death" - About Simo Häyhä, an extremely gifted Finnish sniper during the Winter War. "Panzer Battalion"-about panzer(duh) "Into the Fire" ? About the Vietnam War. and "back in control"-about the falkand war

See I like the new singer for Nightwish not the old one. Nightwish is amazing and they were back then too and that was some amazing soundings tunes to me but as soon as she started to sing it to me didn't match the energy the rest of the music was trying to bring. I know it is operatic metal but I just don't like her as a vocalist when the music is that high energy but the second singer's voice blends so well with the rest of the song. (sorry don't have the names)

Try some Domine.
I also recommend Masterplan, specifically the albums with Jorn Lande. After that, Jorn's solo stuff and his collaboration with Symphony X singer Russel Allen; aptly title Allen-Lande. It's all a bit reminiscent of Dio. Might not be as heavy as you'd prefer, but worth a listen.
Also, Ayreon if you're feeling adventurous. It's more prog metal than power metal though, so be warned.

Pretty much everyone I was going to list has been mentioned. My advice would be, if you are really getting tired of your music collection, try swapping to other genres for a bit. I used to be a pure metalhead, but now I am pretty eclectic. There is a lot of good stuff out there just waiting to be found.

...oh, except country. In my opinion, this new pop-country fusion fad thing can go die in a fire. Just my personal opinion.

i do listen to a lot of different genres but power metal is what i like to go back to usually. I listen to some of my other stuff then switch back to the power metal. I am just wanting more variety thats all.
