For some reason ever since the middle of yetserday, when I try to access the Escapist using Firefox, my main browser, all I get is the apparantly festive background blue and snow, nothing else. It still works with my nonstandard browsers like Opera though.

Anybody else experiencing this problem? I disabled adblock and noscript but neither fixed this problem.

If you need to blame Kross. Or legitimately state problems on the site that need fixing. Either or.

[sub]FYI I'm using Firefox with only one glitch at the moment so I have no idea...[/sub]

I haven't been able to use it since the winter background. I can only acess it from my phone. I've been on this site through good and bad so it sucks I have to leave because they can't fix their site. Don't fix what ain't broke, because when you try you will break it and be worse off.

Hopefully Kross and The Escapist tech team will fix the issues with time, please remember that this is the festive season so they might be busy with family and friends at the minute.

As for the people using firefox and IE, there is also Chrome and Opera browser you guys can try, you never know you might really like them, I'm an Opera user myself with Chrome as backup, both seem to work fine.

I think the problem is with a certain addon that removes certain aspects of the site. I have disabled the addon on The Escapist and it starts working, enable it and it stops working.

I'm unsure whether it's a bug or a deliberate attempt to stop people using the Program That Shall Not Be Named (due to the rules saying your not allowed to.)

So I can't accuse them of forcing us to disable ad-blocker so they can milk a few more cents in advertising from us - interesting...I shall submit it then and see if it's a bug so how I think it's a feature...still guess someone else threatened to quit unless paid

No issues for me. Running with roughly 20 separate addons.
Same here.
There are lags and occasional problems with CSS styles (i guess), but it is working.
.
Edit : Firefox 9.01

Hi all -
I had exactly this problem - I found it was actually due to Adblock Plus. (Try disabling the plugin and you'll probably find the problem is fixed.)

To get around this, add an exception to your Adblock Plus Filter like so:
1. Firefox --> Add-ons
2. With the Extensions tab selected, click 'Options' next to Adblock Plus
3. Click 'Filter Preferences...'
4. Under the 'Custom Filters' tab, add the following rule to your exceptions rule:
5. Save changes, restart Firefox, and you should find you're up and running.

Hope this works!
