The new design is a complete and utter cluster****. everything is in a completely random place and it (no joke) took me about a 30 seconds to find the forums button. oh, and the "browsing options" is mis-spelled. 'broswing' options we have instead.

seriously, who's bright idea was this? it's a mess!

It's ass from a functionality point of view, it would be good if the escapist were say a shop, but it isn't. It's a news site and a community, it is built around functionality. It's really badly designed in that respect.

I think most of my initial displeasure was just my natural: nooo!!! change!! I dunno where anything is! CHANGE IT BACK!! whaaaaa!!!
my point is I'm not thinking objectively on the matter. I think I'll get used to it though.

EDIT: There may be some validity though to arguments that say that it's a reasonably poor layout for a news site. I dunno...It could be better but it's not terrible.

Could somebody please point me to where I can find the "Latest forum post", we used to be able to get to it by hovering over the forums button, but it's not there anymore.

Edit: I know there is a tab in the box in the center of the homepage but.. that's a lot of scrolling to find the new topics and I'm lazy, there was a forum page dedicated to new topics... that's the one I'm looking for.

Wow, I think this looks much nicer than it did before. The old design always seemed overcrowded to me.

I kinda like it. Took me by surprise and I had to re-find everything, but it looks nice and clean.

Edit: Although my one suggestion would be to add a bit of colour to the top. Everything is white so it looks like the page disappeared into nothingness.

It looks to empty and squashed. Everything is clumped up to much for me, I keep thinking that it's not loading right because there's so many places that are just white :/

They should go back to the design they had before the last, it was by far the best.

Not attacking OP, it's just a thing I see often. Facebook is certainly the worst.

I like the new design. I don't like the lack of quick, easy shortcuts to each and every content contributor. I get why they might have changed it the way they did, because the drop-down menu is much cleaner now than it used to be, but I still preferred the quick shortcuts. It also organized things a bit nicer, because I wouldn't have to shuffle through every new video to find the one I want to watch...

It caught my completely by surprise, but after a second of adjustment I realised it's pretty much the same as it has been for a while now, but with a classier colour scheme and a not-quite-as-clustered content bar at the top. As per usual, it's a change, it's not drastic, nothing's nerfed and I can deal with it.

OK, I have adblocker installed. Is the top banner supposed to be all white?

Watch out there. Pretty sure staff don't like admittance of adblock use, seeing as ads bring in a fair bit of revenue. Might edit that post of yours for safety and turn off adblock while you're here. It's only fair. For reference, my top banner displays an ad, so no, it's unlikely its meant to be white.

Personally, I'm a little miffed. I'll get over it quickly that's for sure. But honestly, I'm totally ok with a poorly designed site. I can get used to it. What I don't like is having to get used to a new shitty layout every few months. Whether people love it or hate it, can we at least keep it around for a little while this time before we move on to the next eyestrain?

You couldn't find the forums button because its position changed. That doesn't mean it's badly located, it just means you're shit at looking.

I quite like it.

EDIT: Also, OP, that's not a rant by any standards...
