The reset just obliterated all name/identifier combos.

If yours is different, please post here, I'll add you all again tomorrow.

Sure, why not. Just got the beta today. I only played for about a minute but that was enough to make me realize just how bad I am at this game. So don't expect much challenge from me.

My tag is Kraken.ofthesea

Shoot me a pm or a friend request, I'd be down to play (even though I suck currently)

I'm Whipp.noobie whenever the servers aren't down

Finally got my first (and only so far) game in last night when the servers came back up. (and won the 1v1, woot). I'm not a big fan of the giant rocks they put at the choke points in "novice mode." It would be cool to have some people to play with other than just random pubs though. I'm jerrrry.jerrrry (4 r's) on the US server.

Wait, all you have to do to get a bea key is go down to Gamestop and pre-order...

OK, stay off the ladder now.

I ended up getting placed in plat, but it just came out there's a huge zerg exploit right now.

Long story short: when you cancel eggs, the hatchery still replaces the larva, but the larva in the egg no longer explodes, so you can build up 6 larva at the beginning, build a spawning pool, then rush with 12 zerglings at about 1:55 into the game. It's literally impossible to stop unless the other person is doing the same thing.

This bug has gotten EVERYWHERE and it's being used from plat to bronze (although the former are much better at abusing it) so try to stay to practice matches. There are enough of us now that we should be able to practice amongst ourselves without having to deal with the exploiters (although it is Beta, so they are technically trying to break the system before it goes live, so more power to them).

I've got some ideas for stopping it:

As toss, go for a fast forge (9 supply?) and wall in with a gate the forge and a pylon. Then put cannons behind the pylon.

As Terran: early rax at 7 or 8 and a supply depot soon after to wall off. Pump marines behind the wall.

If you survive the rush you should win because they've completely crippled their own economy.

I'm about to try these with a friend; I'll post the replays if they work.

Edit: going through and adding everyone again, I'm still Satyrical.lmc on US servers.

Cool, go ahead and add me...
I'm Rewdalf.rew.
I'm actually pretty good with Zerg as long as my teammate can hold off the enemies. All I need is 40 upgraded Hydras and I can literally steamroll anything...

7rax walloff rapes that pool exploit. [http://rapidshare.com/files/379315932/6poolcheesedefense.SC2Replay.html] Build used:
6 supply: build SCV
7: barracks
8 scv
9 scv
10 supply depot
10 marine
~11 supply depot
then repair with an scv and transition to your strategy of choice

Anyone up to test the protoss defense with me?

Edit - For some reason I can't find anyone :(
If you're outside the US, it's because we're on different servers.

I'm not sure if you have enough time for that as a protoss, I've heard of a stalker rush strategy to counter it, but you have to time it just right and probably loose a few probes.
So protoss=screwed at the moment

Hm. Try making a narrow channel between your first pylon and gateway and blocking it with a zealot. That way your zealots only have to fight one or two zerglings at a time. Keep lining your zealots up to take the place of their dead comrades. Once you finish off the zerglings, rush in with the zealots you've got.
