Escapist Stereotypes: What kind of poster are you?

After years, months or even weeks browsing the Escapist or a similar forum, one might start to notice a pattern in the posts they read, leading to stereotypes. What type of poster is your favorite? Your least favorite? What kind of poster are you?

I'll start. This is an actual post I read a looong time ago. I have kept both users anonymous. This is all in good fun.

The one who made that post only had 5 or 6 posts. This guy's my favorite. His stereotype is the guy who had been lurking these forums and wanted to fit in with the rest of the Escapists, but failed miserabley. Then the other poster's stereotype is the guy who has no manners and uses terrible grammar.

I would fit into the stereotype of the guy who always makes his posts way too long, no matter how small the topic.

Bit of a lurker, but without the actually wanting to fit in. I lose interest too quickly. Here for the articles or when I'm bored at 3am and can't sleep (as in now).

I'm the kinda guy that sometimes tends to ramble in his posts because he's not very good at making a point or tends to elaborate too much. :<

I honestly can't stand people that don't like to type in the best English they can. It's hard on my eyes staring at posts that look like "i lik to run n stuff ur a noob if u don't". Or worse... 1337 speak. DX Otherwise I have no real problem with other people. :3

Straight to the point?

I dunno it would help if there were a pre-existing list of stereotypes, you know since you can't really call them stereotypes unless everyone's clear on what's a stereotype.

I guess I'm just straight to the point, no dancing around the topic, or trying to avoid fucking curse words (See what I did there?) just plain ol' punch in the groin honesty.

I love long rambling posts! Well when I post I'm generally angry, joyous, or annoyed. I keep grammar and spelling good and I stab trolls (Go for the optics!). What does that make me?

I guess I fall into the category of guy who was lurking the forums and wanted to fit in.

But since I actually did succeed, I'm not sure where I fall into now.

I'm the guy who makes funny posts and once in a while gets quoted on them, making him a happy fellow.

I discuss. Like, a lot. I even discuss with people about the points I agree with and confront them with the flaws in said points. I'm not sure why, though, maybe I just want people to think more and realize their opinion is not as 'correct' as they might think.

So, I like to call myself the antagonist. Because I am your antagonist. All of you.

I'm kind of a coward, too afraid to do anything that could be remotely hostile. I also try to be humorous with my posts, but at the same time say something that adds to the discussion.
Another part is that I play forum games.

I'm the guy who's generally somewhat laid-back, hangs out with the anime fans/forum games kind of people, but outside that circle is generally unremarkable.

I'm interested in this topic but I don't really know what to say.

Before I can comment I need to know what some of the different stereotypes are.

We need to agree on our terms before we can get anywhere.

I...I don't know.
Maybe the guy who shows up in nearly every forum game at least once.
I used to be make lots of jokey threats, but I outgrew that a while ago.
Now I think the consensus of most people I hang around is that of a weird uncle or something.
I don't know how that happened, but I can deal with it.

I'm that guy who posts in everything in a vain attempt to overtake Neonbob and become Lord of the Escapist.

And if you believe that, you, dear reader, are easily fooled.

I tend to post posts that may at times get quoted and get told they either agree with me or completely disagree with me. And I may at times be seen posting in a fit of anger due to something displeasing me.

EDIT: Also, 'possibly thread de-railer using inane topics'.

Hmm...
I guess I fit under "casual forum goer".
No, that doesn't mean I'm a casual gamer... I'm quite the opposite in fact...
what I mean by "casual forum goer" is that I don't post regularly... but when I do, its either a little here and a little there... or its a massive amount of posting... just depends what mood I'm in and how much free time I have.

I prefer to have others classify me, so that I do not go with something more positive than it should be, as well as to avoid making a choice too negative.

Having to try... the kind who tries to avoid being noticed, and enjoys both when he is successful and when he fails? I dunno, and I doubt anyone else could tell you what I am.

Mainly a lurker that gives a few random posts now and again. I give some heated posts, but usually when the talking pisses me off, I just leave the thread before saying something stupid and off-topic most likely.

I could probably fit into the "snarky, sarcastic, and sometimes unintentionally insulting poster" stereotype. And I can sometimes write long posts on a subject I really like.

I found this post quite entertaining, considering who posted right before he did.
