I'd say well above average if not for the fact that I'm actually awful at team based sports. Want me to run, or swim, or jump over walls? I'm totally your guy. Want me to play basketball or baseball, or soccer? Yeah, not a good idea. Sometime about team based games never really clicked with me, and I don't know why. Maybe it's because I just never put any trust in my teammates.

So yeah, I can run a sub 6 minute mile, I can swim forever, easily bike 30 miles, and can lift 100 pounds over my head without any significant effort, but for some reason I'll never be able to dribble a bloody soccer ball.
I'm the same way about team sports. I played volleyball when I was 20 or so, I obviously was too short to be any good at outside of playing the back row well.

Also, it boggles my mind that people just can do sub 6 minute miles WITHOUT ANY EFFORT. That really pisses me off. I've been training like mad to hopefully get that fast, and I'm not there yet. It's just not fair!!

Edit: I'm almost at 6 even, but to run faster than that. My mind just can't comprehend that.
I didn't get there without a lot of hard work. I ran track and cross country in high school, but when I started I could barely even finish a 5k, and the first time I managed it took about 28 minutes. Fast forward 3 years of running 6-10 miles a day 6 days a week and I could run a 5k in under 18 minutes.

It's been quite a few years since I was in high school and I don't have quite as much endurance as I used to have so I can't run a 5k in 18 minutes anymore, but I can still run a single mile in sub 6 minutes. Anything more than a mile though and my speed goes way down.

At the moment shit. I use to do martial arts and gymnastics and I want to do rock climbing but I haven't got around to starting anything up again. I don't like team sports very much so I can't say how good I am at them because I haven't been in any since early high-school PE class. I'm carrying more weight that I would like mostly because when I have 1 1/2 hours between some classes to kill I tend to go buy some food out of boredom and the only food place is McDonald's its a really bad habit. Last year had 3 hour gap and did the same thing.
My arms are piddly and pathetic so I've started lifting weights again but I still have quite strong legs. I get winded and a high pulse rate very quickly from short burst of activity and can't run for shit which is largest concern and I really really need to work on that though I have no problem being on feet walking and carrying things all day. I don't have issue with the 6 flights of stairs to one of my lectures which a lot of people seem to get tired from so I don't know whether that means I'm not as behind the curve as I think or peoples health is just terrible here.

I am a former rower, I am the captain of my local club hockey team and I still try and get out there to play Squash like I did in school.
I like to think that I'm decently athletic.

Lets put it like this, I am very fit. I can run fast and do lots of exercises. I am however not very athletic due to never really playing sports during high school. I just exercised, never sports. The closest thing I have to sports is the bit of Krav Maga I do, and that doesn't really qualify as athletics.

I walk a lot, I go for a jog every day (except when I don't) and I do martial arts.

I'm healthy, but I wouldn't call myself athletic by any measure.

I think I am best described as agnostic athletic. I don't know if what I do is athletic or if my physical form could be described as such but I would like to believe so...

Seriously though, I would say I am not that active, but I have no issues keeping up with the nieces and nephews when running around and playing so I can't be too out of shape, can I? Build wise, I look a little bulkier then a long distance runner and a little thinner then your average swimmer.

I'm below average ever since I stop going to the Gym when I went to university. While at my current state I am not obese but I do need to take a breather after running a couple of street blocks.

I know I should head back to the gym but the only local one here is quite expensive to joined.

Well up until 5 years ago I was in extremely good shape. Just over 6 feet, 180-185 pounds, lifted, ran, etc. Played d3 varsity baseball. But now I'm 210 pounds and completely out of shape. Started running earlier this summer, and am currently able to do about 3.75 flat miles in 30 minutes. My goal is to get back to 180-185 in the next year or so.

Im a heavy guy with a decent amount of strength. Nothing special but im definitely in the middle, 100kg bench, 150kg squat, 170kg deadlift. Cardio really isnt my thing, but I do force myself to do it from time to time and It can get pretty intense running around the yard or the local dog run playing with my dog.

I work in construction as an apprentice carpenter to my father, its just him and I so half the time im basically a labourer too.

Ive been pretty lazy lately only hitting the gym once or twice a week and my strength has suffered, I need to get right back into it and id like to lose 10 to 15 kg depending on how I feel when Ive lost the 10, right now I weigh 101kgs... So yeah.

Oddly enough I was pushed into sprinting. Since I'm African American they thought that was what I would be good at. I hated ever damn second of it. Nobody told me that I could run long distance for the school. I would have in a heartbeat. I started running after high school. I didn't really think about speed till about 5 years ago. Now I practically get high off of running fast. I want to compete with others. That has been my motivation all these years. Hard to believe that I've been running for nearly 20 years.

Make no mistake that I'm out there busting my guts trying to improve my VO2 MAX. It just makes me made that people can just walk out to a local road race and be faster than me with NO EFFORT. I'm just a firm believer that people don't get this fast without putting in some real work.

I've done sports pretty much my entire life, and I've been pretty good at all of them, but awesome at none of them. Division 2 districts in Ohio in Wrestling (we had St. Paris Graham in our district, so everyone was basically fighting for 3 spots for states), played almost every minute in an undefeated season in division 3 college rugby, that sort of thing.

My running has always been crap as far as speed goes, but great as far as endurance goes. Even when I was in the worst of my depression and weighed ~115kg (I'm usually closer to 85), I could still run 6 miles without stopping. I never broke 6 minutes for a single mile, but I could run a 5k at almost the same pace I ran my regular mile.

A friend of mine recently wanted to go running with me. I tried to keep up with her, but I couldn't do it. It wasn't because she was too fast, it was because she was too slow. I realized that I was using way more energy trying to run at her pace because her legs are shorter than mine, so I was getting dead tired from running slower than I normally do because I was shortening my strides, and therefore taking way more steps per mile. I think the key to running fast is part hard work and just part genetics. People who have short legs got boned in life by their genes.

I'd like to say average or bellow average, but I can't, really. I'm 30, and at this point quite a few people around my age are letting themselves go pretty badly, while I've been slowly getting into shape over the past several years. I walk quite a bit, avoiding public transportation as much as I can. I do 15-20 minute workouts at home a few times a week (pushups, burpees, weights, etc.; whatever seems fun at the moment). I did Yoga twice a week for most of a decade, though I stopped recently. I'm looking to start Tai Chi in the next month or two. I wouldn't mind a gym membership, but the only ones near me are of the overpriced healthclub-spa-and-assorted-bullshit variety, with the cheap ones being too far to be practical. Also, I keep swearing I'll start going to a public pool in the area for some swimming, but I've yet to follow through on that.

The best part is, I could get a really nice build if I just put some effort into it. I'm naturally slim, I already have some basic definition in my stomach, the basic framework is all there. Just scrape off what little fat I have and pile on some muscle. Some days I really wish I wasn't quite so lazy... :(

I would say that I'm a little above average than most people.

I love to run, I exercise daily, and I also enjoy playing various sports. Granted, I'm nowhere near a star athlete, but I do have a lot of energy, stamina, and endurance. I can also pick up any sport rather quickly, as I was able to keep up with many expert players on my first outings of certain sports (basketball, baseball, tennis, snowboarding, etc.).

Depends who you compare with :p
take my friends and I'm top of the foodchain, take any team in the Barclays Premier League and I'll be bottom of the foodchain :D

I'd say a bit above average. My training concists of football (1-2 times a week), gym (2-4 times a week), jogging (1 time a week) and snooker (1 or 2 times a week). I know snooker isn't exactly the most physical sport but it helps to keep my thoughts in check since you need to focus so much during every single strike and the precision needed is crazy. I like to believe it helps me in other sports.

And if someone asks me to go play some other sport I really much enjoy doing that.
I am a competitive person and team sports are my favorites. But stuff like tennis and badminton are fun as well!

My personal athleticism is very accurately described as that of a one-time rugby prop who doesn't go to the gym as often as they should. That having been said I've just come back from the Glasgow event of 2.8 Hours Later and I can hand on heart say I'm more athletic than I thought I was. :)

Eh not so much... I have very strong legs & my upper body isn't bad either. As long as it's just heavy lifting or moving heavy things & other stuff associated with strength then I'm fine, but with bad knees & weak lungs I can't say I'm very "athletic".

Fuck running. I can walk at a good pace forever, but no running.

I do lift weights a bit, but honestly I couldn't tell you exactly how much weight is on my barbell. Somewhere around 100lbs, I think & I don't really keep track of how many reps I do. I just lift until I get tired.
