RPG or maybe point and click game about time travelers who goes back to WW2 to take over the world. However, instead of helping the Nazis like in every other story involving bad guys going back in time to WW2, they help the Americans.

They arrive in the 30's before WW2 and use their technology to help America end the depression, becoming powerful political figures in the process. Their leader defeats FDR in a presidential election. They completely cut off support to Britain and France, letting the Axis power demolish Europe. They enter the war after Europe has been practically conquered by the Axis powers, they then use their technology to defeat the Axis with ease. With Europe being destroyed by the war, America basically annexes it without much protest. They then take down the Soviets and the Chinese, all while keeping the American people docile by continuously introducing new technology that makes their lives easier while they continuing to implement their agenda of global conquest. And since there's no constitutional amendment to limit presidential terms, their leader continues to get re-elected.

The main plot of the game would be about you going back to various points in history to undo the changes these time travelers have made. History changes based on the choices you make. A choice that may seem good could end up with disastrous consequences while "bad" choices must be made to restore the timeline. For example, these time travelers are using their future tech to help America defeat the Axis powers, so you might have to sabotage that effort, which in turn means allowing a lot more people to die.

I've had a game brewing probably for at least 10 years now:

Right, where to start. My vision is of a MMORTS in which you create an intelligent species, build a society and civilisation from the ground up, eventually exploring your solar system, discovering a form of FTL, and begin expanding into the galaxy.

Essentially, it's a good version of Spore, which is why I got so excited when Spore was announced, and then so disappointed when I actually played it.

Everything would be customisable, from the look and biology of your species, the conditions of your homeworld and home system, etc... to the design and technology of your starships.

Technology would develop organically, in a problem solving manner. If your homeworld had a high gravity (a la Dekunna in Mass Effect) then your cities wouldn't develop particularly vertically. Need to get into space? Well there could be a number of ways to do that, besides rocketry.

Obviously you'd need some sort of protection system for 'young worlds', much like you have for new players in WoW. However, a part of me thinks it would be kind of cool if the mods took a somewhat relaxed attitude towards advanced civilisations swooping in and taking young worlds, as on the other hand some players might form 'federations' and protect young civilisations.

I don't think you could fully realise my vision for this game with current computer gaming technology, but perhaps in a few years...

And get those lazy dwarf bastards to do things when it matters.
If you made the dwarves even remotely intelligent would it really be Dwarf Fortress though? They've got to be incompetant suicidal morons, it's the dwarven way.
Its one thing watching 90% of your population being wiped out because the remaining 10% who are supposed to do something about it were too busy catching some beauty sleep, and quite another setting one smelting order and it taking a game year to complete because all your furnace operators would rather haul ores to the ore stockpile or food to the dining room.

How about a game where people don't whine and complain about every little insignificant detail? One where people don't sue the developer or go on a crusade to alter parts of the game?

One where people who play an early instalment don't act all high and mighty compared to those who recently discover it, while at the same time crying that the series is not as good as those early games?

Yeah I'm waiting for this game to be made...

Ah got to take the bad with the good though, it just wouldn't be the same without the Fun moments. I'm sure someone, somewhere must have modded a more user friendly UI onto that game though and put mouse support in. I just can't seem to find it.
