Disclaimer : Hey there escapists, while I know the thread title says Ireland, it is really open to anybody who is interested :)

Hi everyone,
So I'm a long time escapist watcher (and fairly infrequent poster :p) and I can't help but feel pangs of sadness come escapist expo time as it is relatively difficult to travel to America for most people due to expenses, prior commitments etc, and as a result, I would like to organise a community of Irish gamers (or any nationality of gamer based in Ireland) here on the escapist who would be interested in organising gaming gatherings and meetups. for example, I have my n64 and two functional controllers, and would love to acquire two more and organise a Mario kart 64/ goldeneye tourney for a bunch of people with some refreshments etc. now I know there's online gaming, but I do miss the local multiplayer environment and socialbility involved. now, while I do play with my friends from time to time, im the only consistent gamer amongst them, and I figured that those who post here are similarly passionate about games and hopefully share my enthusiasm for retro multiplayer. to clarify, i'm 21 and completely sane :p
So I don't have any specific plans yet, but i'd like to gauge interest, and see if people would like to get involved, perhaps organising groups in their own counties etc :)
so, what do any Ireland based escapists think ?

sorry in advance if this violates any forum rules !

How do I know you're not a murderer?

That sounds exactly like something a murderer would say!

I would be totally up for an Irish gathering, we've tried to organise something before but we're all just awful at getting our shit together. I've given up trying and am instead mooching off of the UK Escapism later this month.

If you can get something together, I would totally be interested though!

Provided at least one other person is going who I know definitely isn't a murderer.
I need someone to act as a distraction while I get away.

fair point, but I can offer a copy of my garda vetting form I used for teaching practice to prove my non-murderous ways, can you say the same ??? :p

understandable, I imagine it is quite difficult but I have a knack for organisation, all I need is vic- I mean, people who want to meet up :)
In all seriousness, this thread is just to gauge interest, and then see how it all pans out :)

So I take it that's two maybe's then ? Woo, so far things are going much better than I expected, especially since murder seems to keep popping up in this thread !

I'm Dutch but always up for these kinds of meet-ups, however at the moment (for at least a half year longer) my health prevents me from travelling abroad.

Also not a murderer...
