Escapists: What is your definition of "Fun"?

I think the word "Fun" is getting thrown around a lot, but not a lot of people seem to consider it a subjective thing, which is bad. I know that what I consider fun can be entirely different to what someone else considers fun.

So, what do you consider fun?

Me? Well, I consider basically anything that gives me a nice adrenaline rush to be fun. Whether it be through combat, skydiving, flying a plane, or driving fast, anything that gives me a nice rush of that good stuff I get on a roller coaster is what I consider to be fun.

I also consider doing silly and illogical things that the real world would consider completely stupid to be fun. For example, taking the police on in a shootout in GTA, or going the wrong way on purpose in a nascar game, or stealing military equipment and vehicles in broad daylight and running from them while shooting down their helicopters and killing their soldiers and also lots of police and civilians because why not. Or wrecking cars on purpose. That kind of thing. I also like doing things I could not possibly do in the real world. Like piloting a jet or engaging in huge giant robot/mecha battles or doing magic.

Well, that's my kind of fun for you. Now, what do you consider fun?

Fun: something that makes me laugh (my favorite), something that produces an emotional response that isn't in my "frustration" spectrum, or something where the simple motor mechanics provide enjoyment.

"Fun" is anything I enjoy doing.

Which can vary widely between games that have nothing in common.

While I find committing genocide with Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors 5 to be fun, I also enjoy moving spies across the countryside while recruiting civilians in Dynasty Tactics 2.

While I enjoy successfully assassinating someone in Mercenaries without being seen and then ordering an airstrike on them for the lulz, I also find comparing the societal and political aspects of factions in Fallout: New Vegas to be fun.

"Fun" is different for everyone.

If you stop doing something that is fun because it is mainstream or uncool/cool (I will forgive moral reasons) then you are an idiot, Like MLP? Go for it. Like Drawing MLP characters being bummed by Dexter from Dexter's Lab? Knock yourself out. If it doesn't hurt other people and you like it, then go for it.

People who judge other because they like things you don't either like or consider Fun or Cool are utter tools.

Fun in terms of video games, is going through a game for several hours, not knowing how much time has passed, and enjoying it in a happy and pleasurable way. You just feel awesome playing the game. THAT's fun.
