So tonight, I'm planning on buying the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. pack on Steam for Halloween, containing the two (supposedly) best games in the series: Shadow of Chernobyl, and Call of Pripyat.

Now I've heard a lot about this game series, specifically the fact that there's a lot of broken elements about them. So do you guys know about any mods that are basically essential to get full enjoyment out of the game?

Always play it through Shadow of Chernobyl vanilla (unmodded) first, but I do strongly recommend the headbob fix. I'm not sure where to find it but look around and you should locate a tiny mod that reduces the nauseating headswing.

After you've enjoyed the game and if you still like it, consider playing it with Oblivion Lost, L.U.R.K. or AMK.

As for Call of Pripyat, I don't really think mods are necessary, as they added a much needed coat of polish to it.

Blowout soon, fellow stalker.

Play it through once without mods. Then before your second time around look for some mods that you think are essential. Coarse no mod is essential to gameplay btw
