Psychonauts, Grim Fandango and Planescape: Torment?

Anyhow, there's no such thing as a 'must-play' game, unless you're a critic of some kind. Just play the stuff you like.

Its strange, specially given that you appear to more of an RPG person and even more so given your avatar that you missed The Witcher.

Civilization IV, that's about it.
Ewww. Both Civ III and Civ V are way better than that dog. Adding crappy features that muddy core gameplay does not equal an improvement.
Civ5 is easily the worst of the bunch. Dumbed down gameplay and a shoddy AI that is a complete pushover on emperor levels.

Civ3 is just fine.
Civ4 without BTS is broken.
Civ4 BTS is easily the best of all civ games.

what no arcanum steam punk rpging or the flawed gem vampire the masquerade bloodlines or anything by black isle
that gem was quite flawed indeed. There have been lots of mentions of Planescape and Fallout 1 and 2 though, all of which I'm pretty sure are Black Isle

I do agree with arcanum though

Also,

Baldur's Gate 2
Deus Ex
Planescape: Torment
KOTOR (NOT 2)
Fallout 2, maybe 3 (3 because you can mod the shit out of it)
Mass Effect 1, 2

dunno about the STALKER recommendations. Good games, but they always seem to lack polish
thats what those stalker complete mods exists for make the game absolutely perfect and much prettier at the same time

Why has no one mentioned Homeworld? ARE YOU ALL MAD?! Thief games as well. Also, if you like space combat sims, may I suggest the Freespace series? I may? Thanks! Also Mechwarrior. Tribes.... Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. That one game whose name escapes me... Rogue Warrior, X-series.
Any idea where I can get Freespace from? Is it free for download or do I have to download it from steam?

I like space ships and I wana go pew pew pew pew BOOM!!!

OT: Deus Ex does deserve a mention as its awesome :)
The total war and civilzation series are also huge favorites of mine.

Ah yes, it was 2:AM, my mind ran through mostly the older classics in my collection so I forgot a few games. I can add to my list of recommendations RPG's: The Witcher, and Mass Effect, Adventure: Machinarium, and Still Life, FPS: STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl.
