Damn it people, I was wearing fedoras with clothes that don't match at all way before these assshole posers. Hmph. But I do hope he says "Gotta go fast" several times as he runs from the cops. It would make my life complete for the next few days.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my sister one night, where somehow the topic of fedoras came up and she said "It means you're a brony". I asked her how they go together at all but she couldn't give me an answer. She just repeated her intial statement that "Brony = Fedora."PsychicTaco115 said:Funny, I was thinking it needed an official endorsement from Euphoria MagazineTheYellowCellPhone said:Needs more fanny pack, metal band shirts, and trench coats.

And I was surprised it wasn't an MLP shirt...

Also, whats with the fedora hate?
As far as I'm aware, Yahtzee is where it started: an attitude of smug self-satisfaction, witty intellect and general smartassery, traits that the 'euphoric' have taken as aspiration and adopted the image of. He almost never wears the hat anymore.Zak757 said:There is nothing wrong with the fedora if you can make it match the rest of your outfit. Also, most "fedoras" worn by europhic anti-thiest heroes are actually trilbies.
They don't hate fedoras as independent objects.Desert Punk said:The fedora hate is basicly so you can learn who is safe to ignore.SaneAmongInsane said:Also, whats with the fedora hate?
If they hate fedoras because some people who wear them happen to be tosspots, their opinion is pretty damn safe to ignore.

They are mocking the whole Euphoric package. I don't see many people making fun of Indiana Jones. They hate the tosspots, not their hat, but it seems like a lot of those tosspots are inseparable from their fedoras.
That's my bad, I misread. Although I will say I have never actually seen anyone actually hate someone just for wearing a hat. Unless it was an SS Officer's cap, or some sort of hat with a speaker that played Ice Ice Baby on a constant loop or something.Desert Punk said:Didnt even bother to try to read did you? The sentiment. I mentioned. Has been. Displayed in threads. In the past.
They are not as prevalent as sexism threads but fedora threads do pop up with some regularity.
Eh, you've got a point, it is pretty silly to blame an article of clothing just because some people act like assholes and try to make said piece of clothing their calling card.Desert Punk said:Didnt even bother to try to read did you? except for the exception of anime (only ever really like Big O and FLCL) thats more or less me to a T. I really can't stand the jackasses over Xbox Live with their homobphobic/sexist comments to the point that I do say "that's not cool, man"Lionsfan said:Nieroshai said:Goes for you other post too![]()
There hasn't been a single person in this thread who has been "happy" over what the thief is doing, everybody has been mocking the thief.

Or a time-travelling Indiana Jones for all we know.Bruce said:Nowhere in the article is the guy's religion mentioned, only that he is wearing a fedora, and automatically we get "atheists are robbing our churches, herpity derp derp."
You could just as well say it is Linkara over at Channel Awesome - he wears a fedora after all.
It's a textbook case of those who fight monsters, becoming monsters themselves. I would comfortably bet my left testicle (I've got a spare!) that the majority of spiteful little people in this thread would be able to give the stereotype that they're trying so hard to disparage a run for it's money in terms of general hideousness of both mind & appearance.Desert Punk said:The fedora hate is basicly so you can learn who is safe to ignore.SaneAmongInsane said:Also, whats with the fedora hate?

That is a very nice image.StormShaun said:lacktheknack said:No fear... this is a rare thread on the Escapist where everyone's viciously attacking the church-thief.
"Euphoria" is a bizarre (and hilarious) attack on extreme atheists, born from Reddit's /r/atheism board. All you need to know is that the internet now has a hate-on for extreme atheists (somehow), that they're called "Euphoric", and the stereotypical euphoric atheist is fat, misogynistic, constantly in the friendzone and wears a leather jacket and fedora.![]()
Ah good, although I feel like I should have known better since I know many people on this thread.
And they would be better then what my original thoughts said.
Fear is such a bastard at times.
But I had never heard of this before, well good to know. Good to know the difference too. Now I can join in the fun!
The Fedora never deserved this hate!
That is why we must do this!
Well, yea, I mean, we did that from 718 (The Reconquista) to 1285, regardless of if our belief has to do with gods, or lack of belief in something, from genetic superiority, to superior concepts, war is and has always been caused by a firm belief in something someone else does not believe in.Nieroshai said:Well, considering it's theft, I'll let you guess.TizzytheTormentor said:This whole thread is too damn Euphoric! I wonder how they would react if we stole their bibles (The God Delusion by the prophet Richard Dawkins)
Is this really where we are as a culture? We believe a belief is deluded, so we steal and cause harm because we're "right," and that somehow justifies us. Fuck. THIS is why war exists.
