Evaluate my build and make suggestions :)

Hey Guys at around August time im planning on building a new desktop but I thought it couldn't hurt whilst I'm saving to put together a list .

This is what I am currently planning on getting and its specific purpose is for gaming:

LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Full Version
TRIXES 54 MBPS Wireless PCI LAN PC Adapter Card 802.11G WiFi

The price is just over £1300 which is fine and I can probably stretch to £1400 if there is any noticeable gain to be had - but I also am not opposed to maybe taking down the price a little .

I hope you guys can give me some good feedback .

You could probably cut down on the power supply, if you want to save money. Otherwise, nice.

Though, I'm curious as to why you need a wireless card.

And that case is ugly as sin.

It's pretty overkill for gaming.

You could build a great gaming PC for about £600.

I'm seeing it as an investment in future proofing at the moment .

Just out of interest what sort of build would you suggest?

You could probably cut down on the power supply, if you want to save money. Otherwise, nice.

As far as case is concerned its one of the better ones within my budget that I've seen - has 3 fans and its going under a table so it doesn't really matter that much . And its basically "plug in the parts" which since this is going to be the first computer I've ever built myself .

I want the wireless card because its more convenient for me to have that than a cable and I distrust those USB wireless things - what happens if I knock the precious thing! :O .

I would suggest that you either buy I5 2500 or i7 2600 (Sandy bridge) those are great cpus and its extremely easy to overclock, if you decide to change to Sandy bridge you need to change your mobo to a 1150 socket and do not skimp on the psu since later on you can simply buy another card and run in CF/SLI and if possible I would upgrade that gpu to 6950. And Socket 1150 only support Dual channel ram(1/2/4 sticks of ram)

And bulldozer might be a good idea to look into once its released.

Future proofing is impossible.

Drop down to an i5 2500k, 4GB RAM and 650w.

Also, Spinpoint F3's instead of Barracudas.

Well at the moment (in sweden) its the best performance/money card.

Windows, 32bit or 64bit?
Install it on an SSD? Will operate faster (I reccomend OCZ Vertex 2 - 120GB)
Have you considered and AMD CPU? Cheaper.
